Why do y'all think we always have a few players every year to "not cut it"? Can they not follow the rules? Attrition? Not talent worthy? All we can do is guess since we rarely ever hear why they left the program.
All of the above, in a sense. Not talent worthy isn't one of the reasons.
Just as an example, you could put Zo Lawrence on any of our wide receivers and they'd never touch the ball: including Julio. But, when it came down to understanding our defensive scheme he was just lost. He just couldn't grasp the assignment aspect of the Saban/Smart defense and if you have one player on our D that can't it is going to disrupt the entire scheme.
Saban has said, often, "you've got to be able to trust the guy beside you, behind you, etc., in order to be effective." If you have one guy worried about another's responsibility he's not going to do his job to the best of his ability.
As to other reasons? It's not a matter of "all we have to do is guess." It a situation where it's a choice not to put it out there. Smart asses on message forums have driven legit info to private forums where things can be discussed without dealing with trolls and a-holes. And, to be
perfectly clear, private forums doesn't mean pay forums
in the least.
If a kid is still at UA, or still on the team, I'm not going to air his dirty laundry. Keiwone made choices in his party life that were stupid, in some cases illegal, and he was caught on more than one occasion. He was warned, in writing, and he didn't adhere to the rules and stipulations laid out in front of him.
We could have used him this season. In terms of football, it's his loss. He'll still be able to play in Memphis and still be able to get a good education. IF he chooses to do so. I have my doubts considering he's putting himself right back in the situations he came from which likely led to these "habits" in the first place.
