🏈 Wow! Tim Brando leaving CBS!

Where will he land? SEC Network?
After 18 years at CBS and 16 years as the Host of College Football Today, I am leaving CBS Sports. I will no longer be the Host of College Football Today or provide play by play services for their golf, football or basketball coverage. This news comes on the heels of my announcement that the Tim Brando Show will not be returning to CBS Sports Network. It was truly a privilege to cover The SEC on CBS, The Road to the Final Four, and more recently The Masters for Masters.com and The PGA and Champions Tour. It was an honor working there. I am looking forward to new opportunies and making many exciting new memories covering sports. I greatly appreciate all the love and support from my loyal fans! Please stay tuned to this page, as we will post news as it becomes available! Don't forget- you can ALWAYS listen to the show from 8-11am CT on SiriusXM College Sports Nation, channel 91. Thanks for your continued support- Timmy B.

My first thought?

He's trying to pull a Dan Patrick.

Changing the subject slightly, but still relatively related to this thread...did you notice how Clay Travis disappeared from the scene on FS1's college football coverage for the last half of the season?

You can tick fan bases off on blogs and on radio shows...but you're an idiot of you don't think that carries over to another media venue and viewers choices of who they listen to and when they turn the channel.

Just to add a note...there's been rumor running around for three or four months about Brent Musburger's contract not being renewed. That may be where Timmy's headed.

Maybe he will take Verne and Gary with him...

There isn't a network out there that wouldn't snatch up Gary Danielson if given the opportunity.

You'd be hard pressed to find a color commentator who puts in more time on his homework before games. I hope he sticks around as long as he's able to do so...

Interesting if he takes Mussberger's spot. I like Brent waaaay better than Timmy B. Tim will be alright in that spot, but personally I like Mussberger.

I figured Brando was pulling a Finebaum. Thought he might go to ESPN to do his radio show under the ESPN/SEC network heading. Probably do a similar thing. Radio show during the week and have input on the SEC, Gameday, etc. Who knows what all is going to happen. Tessitore and Tebow will be doing their thing at an SEC campus each week. Could be interesting.

One thing is for sure, he will come out in a more prominent role. He isn't going away. And he isn't going to the Lifetime Network to call WNBA games. Unfortunately, he's going to find a way to be as close to front and center as he can get as it pertains to college football/basketball (which means SEC).

see, that's what im afraid of.

I love Verne and Gary. They are a great duo and I love tuning into them. They are fun and Gary is very knowledgable. I'd rather here them all day than Jesse Palmer or freaking Brock Huerd (sp?) Tim Brando is a dipshit. I can't stand the guy. He is like Danny Kannel and turned into a major idiot in order to gain national attention. I listened to his radio show twice and he came off as someone I'd prefer to punch in the mouth. Good riddance and here's to a Brando free College Football Saturday in the SEC.

I agree about Gary but I think Kirk deserves the same amount of praise in that department.
