šŸˆ Would you prefer Lane Kiffin to coach Bama over KD?

I don’t care what anyone says, Ryan Day is a heck of a coach.

He’s weird. But, dude can coach

Yes very good... and has improved, which is key. He was this [<-->] close to being fired last season... and many of his own fans had turned on him. A lesson there to be learned for many...

@Brandon Van de Graaff I asked this in another thread, but is there any smoke with DeBoer and PSU? I haven’t paid attention to who’s been saying it, but I saw something yesterday about it

Not from DeBoer's end of it. Yes, they want him, and they should. But that's it. He's not going there and he's not trying to leverage it for anything. I think some of it from the PSU end is also using his name as a smokescreen while they figure out who they want. And can get.

Back to Kiffin - if he's truly threatening a scorched earth approach to keep coaching in the playoffs, then you have to cut him loose and let him wreak his havoc. He won't honor that agreement once he loses in the playoffs, and I don't think you could force a contractual requirement that LSU take no Ole Miss transfers or committed recruits. He's going to take his recruiting board with him.

And when did Kiffin start talking with his hands like Saban does? Every clip I've seen of him in the past week, it looks like he's trying to imitate Saban with the hand gestures. Next up, he'll throw in a bunch of "aight's", ditch the visor for a straw hat, and start chewing Red Man at practice...
He's trying to channel Saban's personality. I have a feeling he's going to struggle at LSU mentally (off the field, meaning he won't be happy and bolt for NFL in 2 years.)

I think he can win an NC there maybe... I say maybe because the current playoff format will be difficult for him. But he's going to bring in talent. If he does win an NC, I see him flaming out quick... maybe not as quick as his buddy Orgeron, but it'll happen. There's rumors that he is going to have his brother Chris be his DC... I'm interested to see how that works out. But off the field, LSU isn't a place with many guardrails, and he needs them. They guy just doesn't have a ton of self-discipline and he and authority are oil and water. This whole thing could end a number of different ways, and most all of them are bad for LSU. But if they thread that needle and get a trophy, that's all they care about.

So this bring up a question: What happens with Pete Golding?

My son and I were talking about this yesterday and I told him that Lane could be very successful there and win a NC, but if there isn’t the guardrails that he needs then he’ll be fired quickly
