🏈 WJOX - does everyone miss Jay, Al, Tony?

I sure do!

For any of you that were used to 'The Morning Drive' with that trio - I thought it was a great show. Lots of info and callers - good mix of 'Bama and Auburn (although Al sure was a barner homer!) I have tried to give this new morning crew some time... and have tried to be patient.

They think they're hilarious - they aren't. They think everyone is interested in all their little lives and personlaities - we aren't. They don't listen to the common fan enough (I have never called in, but it makes things interesting). They don't have many good guests on the show, certainly not regularly.

I called the station yesterday, after what I felt was their poor coverage of media days. I left a message letting them know I was done. 94.5 will no longer be a preset on my radio. I guess I will stream 102.9 from Tuscaloosa and listen on my phone.

Just wondering if anyone that listens feels the same way?

I stopped listening a long time ago because of the lack of preparation from Jay. It's said when you can find things online, easily, on subjects about Bama he knew nothing about.

What's the new show you're talking about? The 3 man front I've seen for the last month or so?

Gonna ask a question slightly off topic, but does The First Team come on XM anymore? I just got it back and haven't listened in forever, so wasn't sure if it was still a show or not.

I liked the all SEC format. Well, except for Tony's ongoing UAB/B1G crush. Don't really do the morning thing or anything else in the off-season but it's nice to hear local stuff during the season. The roundtable crew is anything but All-SEC.

I do... For sure. Especially with football season rolling around.

Ultimately I liked both shows so 2 shows was better than 1. I'll have to find another show now when CF season starts to fill that time!

No, that's later in the day - The 6-10 AM show - "The roundtable"

Al is the golf coach at Samford.

Jay has his hands in several business ventures. Prep Tix is one I know of. Plus he has a famous wife, working and making money is probably not to daunting for him.
