I think he stays untile he retires. Frankly its hard to picture him just kicking back in the retired life, though. If I lived on the lake where he has his house I would definitely want to know where his pontoon boat was at all times.

WE are the answer to that question.

Across the board, right now, there is not another program that can best what we have to offer. That is to say, there is no reason for him to go.

The X-Factor is how WE, as the fan base, respond over time. Right now we have have bought into the program and have had the luxury of getting what we want. My queston is will we remain loyal to him when he have a down year - which we will eventually.

If we continue to buy into his program as a fan base, then he will retire here, maybe even move into the AD Office when his coaching days are over...and I totally trust his judgement on who would do a good job as his replacement.

the only way i think he leaves is if he decides to give the NFl another shot. i doubt USC fans thought that pete would be leaving either, he was at a top 5 program.

Do your really think PC would be leaving if SC wasn't about to get popped by the NCAA? Guy had a Malibu apartment equipped with co-eds, if not for the NCAA, he'd still be there.

The only reason that I voted that he will not honor his entire contract, is that I think three years from now he might retire. He's 60 and and if he wins another MNC there might be a little motivation to walk away.

I also think that after building what he has and setting us up in great position that we're in, we'll have no reason to complain about him deciding to ride off into the sunset.

Just my 2Ā¢.

I was born in 1967 and lived through many great years of Alabama football enjoying them all with my father. Then our coach died and the next several years were full of void, cept for some great players and plays (ie Bennett and Thomas). Then came Stallings and the hope that we could return to greatness. Then another void and I had kids of my own. The past three years have been the greatest I have experienced since enjoying Bama football with my dad, but much greater because it is with my kids. I sure the same was true for dad. If it ends tomorrow, the ride has been fun thanks to our Coach, however, I think it will last for the better part of the next decade as it did for me when I was a kid.

Roll Tide...

I voted that he would honor it but at the same time, I won't be too depressed if he were to leave before the contract has run its course. I think LBS said it best. It is up to us, the fanbase as to how long he hangs around with us. We're riding high now, but a hiccup will occur. Let's just hope we don't have any knuckle headed booster try to "help" a player out. To me, that will make the man bolt in a heartbeat.
