šŸŒŽ Who does the Democratic Party put up for the POTUS race?

A majority of South Carolina voters make a big mistake every six yearsā€¦šŸ¤”
Here's an example of why I avoid talking about other states and their elected officials. I don't live there and I don't follow who is up for a particular seat.

In this case, let's look at 2020. Who, pray tell, would have been better than Graham? I do not care for a lot of what he says and the positions he gravitates towards. But, I also know who was up against him in the primaries and the general election.

The lesser of two evils still leaves you with ... ?

I sure hope you find one this time… Maybe the governor or Norman will make the jump… and maybe Clyburn will do the right thing and kick the bucket..🤔

When I first moved to Charleston it didn't take long to see this clique, and that one. Tri-Counties is a coined term; it's vague. To this day people find some self-assurance by saying, "I'm from West Ashley" versus Goose Creek, or Hanahan (while the guy in Hanahan has a house on an outlet that flows into the Cooper River.)

The state is the same way. The state is divided into four different states. In political circles it's hard to find a consensus guy without one hell of a platform to speak from.

It wouldn't be too hard to build a "Manchurian Candidate." In the end their allegiance would probably be to the Low country: Citadel roots.

@ElephantStomp we talked about this about two years ago; maybe longer. At the time I was thinking about Newsome. Now, I think he's done. I've always believed the notion of AOC wasn't sound. In my view, another that's "done."

Who does that leave?

IF I were writing the script I'd pull someone who is currently, or has been, in Trump's camp who now stands opposed. But I don't have a name or clue.

Shapiro vs Vance?
It’ll be Shapiro and Beshear, not sure about on the same ticket, but they’ll both run and the nominee for us will be one of those two, I’m hoping Beshear.

I think Newsom is going to run for the Senate, maybe for President, but he won’t win.

Won't win both, or wouldn't win the WH? Going against Padilla? (I think that's how it's spelled.)

Doesn't matter ... I think I remember Beshear being a Vandy guy.

If he chooses to run for the Senate that'll be one story to follow. Can he displace Schiff? How would those two campaign against each other? With immigration issues in front of everyone, a battle with Padilla? (Who would Mayor Bass endorse?)
Schiff has way more experience lying on the national stage than Newsom. So Schiff would have a huge advantage. Very confident that Schiff could lie his way across finish line.

Convince me California voters look at the national stage when they are electing officials to represent them in Washington. I don't know what they consider. I'm fond of saying, "make it make sense." I don't find a lot of comfort looking at the west coast. In a sense the Rockies could be a national border for political belief systems.

All I’m saying is the more experienced liars in these dim contests will typically win.

He could displace Schiff. Dem voters love Newsom. Newsom has more experience with immigration
