🌎 Who does the Democratic Party put up for the POTUS race?

He could displace Schiff. Dem voters love Newsom. Newsom has more experience with immigration

I know you've seen the Spiderman meme where you see two and they are pointing at each other. That's one of my first mental pictures when I consider the campaigns. I can see Schiff pointing to the '21 recall effort (another is starting from what I've gleaned recently) and Newsom pointing to the censures on Schiff.

I do think it would be a closer race than Newsom versus Padilla due to the states demographics.

I hear more about how screwed up this, or that, is in California so I can't point to the positives Newsom would bring to the position.

You mention immigration. How many will weigh the amount of money spent there under the lens of the deterioration of San Fran, LA, and other cities? I still believe this fire, and the stories around it, aren't put out yet.

I think Newsom will be put under the microscope for the billions of dollars squandered on the high speed train that isn't anywhere
near completion. Hell, I don't think much of a start has been made. He may possibly get the hook over this.

Newsome has still made ZERO effort to fill the reservoirs and irrigate farmlands… has millions of gallons of water still are headed toward the Pacific Ocean… and SoCal is full of water shortages.. all because of a little worthless fish..

Newsom won’t run against any democrat, so it doesn’t really matter what each could point to. Newsom is a loyal person if nothing else. I like Padilla, so I wouldn’t want them to run against each other.

The problem with Newsom is most voters in California don’t think he’s left enough in some areas and he’s too left in some areas. Although I would vote for him if he ran, he’s not my top choice.

In person, face to face, I can't remember ever talking to someone from CA about how, or for whom, they voted. I know how several "lean," but I've never asked why, specifically.

From my cursory view I see a group of voters who aren't sure what they want from one day to another. Stepping back several weeks ... I can't help but surmise as the week started a lot of them were all behind environmental protection measures (included those for the smelt fish) and quickly changed their minds when they were watching their neighborhood burn from the local hotels.
