🏈 Who do we pull for this Saturday?

i am volunteering my support to the VOLS this weekend......auburn fans already getting cocky.

both teams a real suprise this year, i would have to say. Both teams seem to be going in the right direction. what will be interesting to watch is, is to see how each team responds to the win/loss and how it is done..i.e. close game, blowout, contreversial call,etc....

I'll hold my nose, take my Pepto to easy my stomach, and pull for UT.

...which does NOT mean I'll be singing "Rocky Flop" though!! :no-no:

... in fact, I'll have to mute the TV so I don't even have to hear it...

My dream scenarios:

1) The aub team plane is flying to Obnoxiousville on Friday. As they are preparing to land they encounter turbulence and must crash land. The only available area to land is the practice field, where Lane and Co. are going through a last minute walk through.

2) The game is on and the stadium is crammed with 100,000 plus barners and viles. A previously unknown fault line along the river banks opens up, sending the stadium and its contents sliding into the Tennessee River.

A pox on both their houses. :hyper:

Only time I ever for UT. When is the last time they beat Aub? Seems like forever:swear:

Wow. I hadn't thought about that!

Lost last year, and also lost the last time they had a series together...'03 and '04 I guess.

Looks like this year will be the 10th year...last win I remember was in '99 and I'm thinking they shut the Tigers out that year.

A game that I wouldn't have considered watching before the season started is now one of the most interesting games of the weekend, IMO.

As I'm not worried about playing either team, I don't really have a preference as to the winner, but I do want to see how Malzahn game plans for a more powerful defense. So far, Todd hasn't been pressured at all. I want to see if he can continue to improve with actual pressure.

Also, Auburn's defense has been atrocious this year in 3rd down situations. If I were Kiffin, my gameplan would be clock control with power running. The longer they keep AU's defense on the field early in the game, the easier it'll be to pound the rock and run the clock late in the game.

UT all the way. I remember how Coach Bryant used love to beat the Vols, but it wasn't 'cause he hated 'em. It was 'cause he respected 'em. I think he'd be pulling for UT on Saturday. Oops. There I go, living in the past again.

Somehow, I don't think Coach Bryant would have the same respect for the Vols today as he did back then. He didn't like loud-mouth coaches.

I think it is an interesting matchup.

UT has already played a very good spread offense in UF, but it uses less motion and smoke and mirrors than Malcontent's offense.

This game is the count of Monte Tiffin's chance to show off his ability to gameplan. I don't know if UT has the horses to do it, but they have the superior coaching staff - and it isn't even close.

If AU wins I will be surprised...I could see UT potentially running away with this one. They have a deeper, more talented team.

I am not sold on the barn. They are about to be brought back down to reality. Their signature win this season was over a very bad WV team. Call me nuts, but I think UT wins and Arkansas may put a beatdown of epic proportion on AU. The only sure win Aub has the rest of the season is Furman. They will probably beat UK as well because UK will have a hard time with the smoke and mirror offense, but that is still not a gimme for them.

Agreed! They're already talking about how they're one of the better teams in the SEC this season...

As bad as I hate to pull for UT, I feel I have to! If there was a way for them both to lose, that'd be great!:headscratch:
