🏀 Where Will You Watch Bama in the NIT?

I've narrowed it down to Wild Wings or Hooters. Don't know if the Tide will last more than a game, but I'll be there cheering.

Positive thoughts, not thinking about the NIT

Chief, are you gonna be watching with the team? That bunch I watched last night WILL NOT be in the NIT!! Injuries aside, this bunch can't shoot their way out of a wet paper sack with a tear started for them!! We couldn't throw one in the ocean IF we were on a boat in the middle of the ocean!! That was pathetic against a team that was sitting at 222 in the RPI!!

Yeah... I was trying to be optimistic that the team could make the NIT. I'm not so sure though.

I wish Grant would recruit someone who could shoot. These athletic guys that cut to the hoop in high school cannot do it in college. We have a team of athletes, not basketball players. There is a difference.

You guys know that I usually try to find the upside. I looked at last night's game and darned if I can find one. We did not play well in the first half, but did manage to get through it with a lead. You would have to go back to David Hobbs tenure to find a worse half of basketball by an Alabama team and even then I am not sure.

Some nights the shots aren't falling, but:

1) Every night you can play sound defense

2) Every night you can block out on defensive rebounds

3) Every night you can avoid making stupid decisions with the basketball.

Coach Grant doesn't play, but I am sure he knows that he is responsible for how his team plays. The lack of effort last night is a terrible reflection on him.

Damn Joe! Your mentioning of Hobbs about made me grab the keyboard and bash it against the wall. To me, like you said, evry night you can have something not go right for you but EFFORT has to be there every night! I used to tell my teams that their actions were a reflection of their parents, the school, and ME!! You can survive with a poor shooting night, or a poor rebounding night, but you can NEVER have POOR EFFORT!! That game last night is one that would've had me peeling the paint off of the walls with my voice!

Joe Dean got me started last night. he was talking about the great job Auburn was doing on the offensive board, when in reality no one for us was finding their man and blocking out after a shot. That is elementary. If you are playing man, you block out your man, if you are in zone you block out the nearest guy. We were just waving at them as they wemt by on the way to the boards. My wife was giving me strange looks (moreso than usual) when I started ranting about that.

I always by Alabama, and always try to be optimistic ,but this team is making it really hard to even think about the NIT....At this point, I would hope we didn't get in just to save us from the embarrassment.....

Words can't really express to how frustrated I was from last nights performance...I didn't even care if we actually made a comeback and won (though it would ease a little bit of the pain). The offensive play is atrocious!!! Why did we continue to slow down? When we got aggressive near the end of the half, we went on a good run...2nd half..Nothing, they slowed it down, waited till the shot clock got to about 10 seconds to actually start making moves and ended up forcing ourselves to shoot and pray...I could go on for hours about our passing and inability to draw up a simple screen.. Cooper is still in his slump, missing wide open shots from the perimeter...

This team is horrible. Going to have nights where shooting sucks or whatever, but the lack of effort from this team is just mind boggling. I can't think of a time during Coach Grant's tenure where effort hasn't been an issue
