šŸˆ where is trickle down???

I believe the former author stormed off mad after some discussions on RJYH. Its all Nates fault.

Here was his last post:

Apparently, the RJYH issue is an emotionally charged one. Also, It sounded like he was having a bad day after getting very little sleep the night before. Sometimes, when I have a bad day, I've been known to overreact. Most people have at one time or another. I hope he see's fit to return at some point and continue writing for this site. I, for one, think he's a pretty darn good writer and football analyst. It would be a @&^$%#'kin shame to lose him.

Sadly I never read his stuff. Maybe I'll check it out. Its sad some people take things on internet forums so serious.

I know that many people don't give two flips about what other people on an ā€˜internet forum’ think or feel. That’s probably more true on a site like al.com where every toothless idiot and there brother are just spewing their own opinion regardless of what anyone else thinks or they’re doing their best to one-up the other guy.

However, I do appreciate those people on this site who put time, effort, and in some cases their own money into giving us a free site to enjoy intelligent (sometimes) opinions, blogs, and camaraderie of fellow ā€˜Bama fans.

Personally, I try not to forget that there are real people on the other end of the posts. I can usually tell when I may have hurt someone’s feelings. Sometimes, even when I might not be substantively in the wrong, I realize that I may have conveyed a certain tone. Or perhaps I may not have known when it was time to back off my kidding of another person who may not be in the mood for kidding for whatever reason. Sometimes a simple apology goes a long way.

Yes, it is apparent that Big_Fan will no longer be doing the trickle down write ups for this site. I hate the way it played out, but we have another expert when it comes to picking games, and he just finished his article a few minutes ago. So here it is, hot of the press from none other than Bama1966......

Bama 66 Pigskin Pick

Duke 0
Bama 66

We kick them in the nads, they walk away with a L tatooed to their forehead.

I know, it's a little wordy, but I think it's a solid pick. Great job, Bama1966!!

He has a way of getting to the substance of the issue rather quickly. I can't dispute a word of if. Well done!

Great one 1966!! I hate that Big Fan has decided to opt out of his part to this site. I really enjoyed reading his article and afterwards realizing just how dead on he was. Maybe, some of you guys can talk him into coming back. I thank all of you for the time you guys put into this site for each and every one of us.

No one owes that guy an aoplogy. He was way over the top that day. No one took any shots at him. He was the one talking about punching people and rights being violated because people did not agree with him. I dont care if he hadnt slept in days or whatever, then dont post until your frame of mind is right. Its the internet we dont know what mood someone is in.

I was hoping he wasn't serious about not coming back, he was in the top 3 posters on this site. Guess it shouldn't be too surprising that someone who conveyed the logical arguments of why Rammer Jammer is stupid would get chased off by the mindless "tradition" supporters.

I disagree that his argument was logical. He threw all kinds of hypothetical situations like fans screaming in a players face and violating their rights.

We all need to have a bit thicker skin on the internet, but sometimes, people push it with their "internet machismo". I think both sides were a little out of hand and neither would back down. I'm not gonna pile on anyone, especially when they aren't around to defend themselves.

I thought he was pretty much joking when he said he wasn't doing the article anymore. Nobody attacked him, we just disagreed with him. If something that small is going to drive you away like that...then you have bigger issues to deal with anyway. I respect Big_Fan, but that day he was rude and accusatory...and a couple of us didn't appreciate it and let it be known. Also, russ, I find it quite hilarious that someone who wants to do away with "classless" things is still harping on about how "mindless" people are over a dead argument.

No, but the fact that whenever someone conveys why Rammer Jammer is classless it gets met with no better argument than "Just be quiet and don't sing it then" is pretty mindless.

I think people had more to say than that.

I don't think it should be done away with, but I don't think it should be used after every win.

Cost/Benefit analysis: If we stop, will our opponents love us, respect us, or think better of us? No, and not even a little bit. If we stop, we trash a treasured tradition and gain nothing. We gain more from the positive emotion shared than we lose from the harsh feelings that will be sent our way regardless. Getting rid of it, for this reason, is a terrible idea.

A little obnoxious, sure, but it's a cool tradition. It's hard to see how Rammer Jammer is 'classless' but those ******* cowbells are just 'quirky.'

I could go on and find more, but after two pages of that thread I'm tired already. One day it will be gone because it is the PC thing to do.
