šŸˆ Where does Coach Saban look for his next offensive coordinator?

I'll be really, really surprised if it isn't an outside hire... someone with OC/play calling experience and possibly with previous HC experience (college or pro). Remember, Black Monday is tomorrow in the NFL. Guys like Adam Gase (who has coached with Saban before) are going to be out of jobs. Many others will be as well. Not saying it'll be an NFL guy, but I'd bet some get a look. Regardless, names will get tossed around but it'll almost certainly be middle of next week (at least) before anything is done.

Meanwhile, something I did hear about the Jags and Urban Meyer this weekend... The push to hire him is coming from his friend, and Jags Director of Player Personnel, Trent Baalke. Can he sell the Khan's on the hire? They are out of the box owners compared to most.

Looks like Urb and Jags are pairing it up....
So much for health being the reason to not being in coaching

Saw an article that speculated the possibility of Tom Herman. Wouldn't that be funny? Also threw out the Ole Miss OC, the UNC OC, and Hugh Freeze. I kinda hope they don't look in the NFL. The NFL game is so different. I just prefer guys who know the college game. Brady at LSU last year seems to have been an exception.

why would anyone include Freeze....?

he could have gotten HCs jobs in P5 ...

just waiting for TN to fire Pruitt....

The fact Urban would not have to spend 18 hours day having to kiss the azz of 16-18 year old recruits would lift some stress. He can give his all and make 10-15 million over a two year period and find happiness, success or get fired.

Jax sucks. I was sentenced their from 2000-2003.

you think dealing with 16-18 year olds in recruiting is more stressful than dealing with 20-24 year old players who are multimillionaires.....
Might be....but I don’t know

Going to be A LOT of names thrown around, but I have come to trust CNS and the coaches he hires. I imagine he will look for someone that can continue QB development and continue the juggernaut that Sark tweeked from Kiffin and Locksley.

yeah....i think it's fun to speculate.... thats what fans get to do....
But in the end...who ever NS wants and gets will be fine... and will have a track record of success in developing QBs...and designing and running an offense...
With talent that’s unprecedented in CF....

How about The QB coach that was responsible for Joe Burrow...Brady....? At Carolina or some nfl place now...

befun to just rub that in Lsu fans face...lol

I wish we had Sarkesian for one more year to see what we could get out of Bryce Young. With our defense not being where I feel we should be, the MULTIPLE starters likely moving on from the defensive side of the ball, I wish we had some sustainability on the offensive side of the ball from a coaching standpoint.

We will have a lot of attrition this season either way and on both sides of the ball, but I wish our offensive coaching staff would stick together to help mitigate any growing pains.

Don't know how the SEC Commissioner would view it, but Hugh Freeze would be my choice. Nick would have to start out with an ass-chewing about following the rules on recruiting, but I believe he is one of the best offensive minds out there in college football right now. And Nick is great at rehabilitating coaches.

IMO, Coach Freeze is very content and happy at Liberty. He, along with many other coach's have worked at getting their life back together at a very messy and public scandal. I do not see him leaving Liberty any time soon. It is not always about the money or the big name school, sometimes, its about what is best personally. He has already taken 4 different schools to 10 win seasons and seems happy.

Don’t want Freeze. Too much baggage unrelated to his offensive ability. One thing folks seem to miss on the whole ā€œCoach Saban rehab programā€ is that when he brings in that type it is generally at a low profile off field analyst type role. Bringing Freeze or any other damaged goods guy in as OC with a multi $$$$$ contract would create a circus of distraction IMO
