I remember the Ole Miss Bama game sometime in the mid to late 80's where they ran out to a 21-0 lead and Bama came back in won 62-21 as I recall.

Gary Hollingsworth was the QB and I believe CHS was the OC. It was 21-0 really fast but that team played well after that disastrous 1 quarter.
Yeah I remember now. Not sure why I had forgotten other than I am just getting older and more forgetful. Curry was the HC and OC was Homer Smith. Were you on that team?
Yep! Walk on QB. I didn't travel, but I watched from home and was shocked at that first quarter just like the Reliaquest Bowl game.

I thought about him a few times in these conversations about Jalen. People still hold Gary in high esteem; he wasn't that good of a QB. Arguably, Jalen has been much better.

I just remember during the GOAT’s YEARS ( Clemson and Utah) they got a couple of whippings.. Sometimes having the best team on paper don’t mean shit…Every team that beat us this year, beat us with DESIRE AND SPITE..And were UNRANKED AND HEAVY UNDERDOGS.. just because we supposedly had a bunch of talent left behind, when Saban left, does not mean that they fit the needs of CKD’s offense and defense…
