šŸˆ What's your take-away from the Ole Miss loss to LSU?

In the end, I'm left a little confused; a "wait a minute" kind of moment which I'll touch on in a minute.

One thing I've noticed after seeing three different recaps of the game is how the story line is running; Ole Miss found a running game?

Yes, they did run the ball—between the tackles at that. However, it's no more than they've been attempting to run ball all year. 34 attempts against LSU which is within two attempts of four other games this season.

Am I supposed to take something away from the 137 yards Ole Miss gained? It doesn't mean a great deal when I look and see they put up 160 on A&M. (We don't need to discuss the A&M defense, right?)

Maybe I'm parsing hairs here, but it's definitely a "wait a minute" moment for me this morning.

How many times have you heard "Ole Miss isn't a rivalry anymore" when it comes to LSU vs Ole Miss? I've heard it A LOT, and not just from LSU fans. It makes for a good game, sure, but when Ole Miss manages three wins over LSU in the last ten years is it a rivalry game?

I understand LSU lost last year on a last second field. I understand they won this year on a last second INT that may have saved the game. I also understand the Black Bears were ranked #3 and undefeated heading into Baton Rouge Saturday night.

($1 to Chris Carter.)

But, "come on, man!" Fans rushing the field? A Saturday night game, at home in Death Valley (with all the "mystique" that's supposed to carry) and I'm left wondering "have you been there before?" They certainly didn't act like they had, eh?

Color me confused...I'm leaning towards believing all the cries about Ole Miss not being a rivalry game will fall on deaf ears when your fans legitimize a team with that kind of celebration.

Here's a harsh reality for some of you guys: you'll be rooting for Auburn next weekend.

I didn't think it was much of a rivalry and still don't. The fans rushing the field , I think, was in utter and sheer relief that LSU pulled it out. We could have and should have beat the crap out of the black bears but didn't.

I hate the barn but I too will be pulling for them.

Classless move by No to leave early. Terrible.

This game was exactly what I expected. Two lackluster offenses against two pretty good defenses. Low scoring with errors deciding the game.

Bo Wallace finally had the game we all knew he was capable of.

My takeaway from this game is that Tiger Stadium on Saturday night is still one scary place. And no matter what some of their fans say, it is still a rivalry game, just as UT is still a rivalry game for us, even if we have won the last eight.

:02 left in the game. That is your leader of the team. He can take it when it OK, but he can't take it when it against him. To me that is poor sportsmanship. Hope I never see that with a Bama player.

Emotions run high in these rivalries, and pride takes over. I had a hunch all week that LSU wasn't gonna lay down and just hand old miss a victory. Having said all that the only thing i can say is congratulations to the LSU nation.

I think we better watch out for LSU. They're starting to gel like us and their run game will be better than anyone we've faced, even Arkansas. Their talent level is near ours which can be scary if they're on. Their quarterback has a cannon for an arm. I think a lot of y'all are turning a blind eye to their ability and what they accomplished last night. They did what we couldn't do, and actually did us a favor since we need Ole Miss to lose two. They should have killed Ole Miss if it wasn't for Red Zone errors.

Wallace should've received a 2nd unsportsmanlike penalty on the failed QB sneak. Throwing the ball like he did was obvious. A 2nd would've meant ejection. Wish the white hat, our own David Smith, would've let that flag fly.

I don't think anyone on our staff will be underestimating LSU. It has been talked about all season, that with their youth, it will take them time to gel, but with their talent they will awfully darn good when they do. This will probably be our toughest test to date. It we show up in all three phases, we beat them soundly. If we are not focused or unmotivated, it could be a long game for us.

BTW - they did indeed do what we couldn't do, but remember they played Ole Miss at home and at night - a decided advantage for LSU.

I'll be rooting for Ole Miss next week, and Miss State in the egg bowl. (If Bama doesn't take care of all remaining business, it won't matter anyway - As long as it isn't the barn.)
If we defeat Miss State and they beat Ole Miss, then all is well anyway.
I think the Rebs went into the game tight, and LsU has nothing to loose. That seems to me to be the bottom line.

My take is that the ' bad Bo'finally showed up by trying to do too much on his own. I am very disappointed with the LSU crowd for rushing the field. Geez, you have won some big games through the years, act like it.

my take away was that i was mad that LSU did what we couldn't. we should have beaten Ole Miss handily, but we were just not up to the task that day. i think our defense is good enough to shut them down on offense and our offense is good enough to run with them on defense. but it just seemed like we played scared and didn't believe in ourselves enough to win that game.

but i'm also glad that LSU won that game. that gives Ole Miss a loss and that's what we need to happen to them at least one more time (and for us to win-out, obviously).

and yeah, the fans rushing the field? they acted like they were an un-ranked nobody team and they just took down the best team in the country. yeah, be happy you won and celebrate. but act like you've been there before (which they have, many times).
