šŸ’¬ "what’s your most controversial southern food take?"

:p:p:p
Salt and pepper in grits (a hot cereal) is nasty. Put some butter and sugar in that ish.

You’re thinking of oatmeal dumbass.:p
Dumbass, huh?

Funny you mentioned oatmeal..

Oatmeal, cream of wheat, grits... All grain cereals traditionally served hot.

Do YOU put salt and pepper in YOUR oatmeal or cream of wheat, dumbass?
I think my pop did put a pinch of salt in his oats. My soft ass grew up on instant oatmeal, apple/cinnamon. Milk and sugar added.

I’m not @EasyTider but the other name y’all used has been directed my way several time so I’ll add this info in case you were referring to me .

I don’t know about cream of wheat but the directions on the back of the Quaker Oats box says, unless you’re on a low sodium diet, add ā…› teaspoon of Salt. Doesn’t mention pepper even as an option.

A pinch of salt, as @EasyTider stated, helps the cooking process.

Same as adding salt to a pot of noodle water.

What we're talking about, though, is salt and/or pepper AFTER cooking as a means of flavoring...

I like most all instant oatmeal flavors, but am more privy to strawberry or peach.

I don’t eat flavored or plain instant oatmeal. But, I eat oatmeal and grits with salt and pepper

Get your Lilly-white yanky ass outta here.

You guys eat some pretty nasty stuff.

I do eat banana sandwiches with either peanut butter or Mayonnaise but not both at the same time. That's disgusting.

I do like gravy on biscuits. On occasion I will eat chocolate gravy. Anyone do that? My Grandma got us grand kids (a long time ago:)) hooked on it. The wife still fixes chocolate gray but it is one of those you only do on occasion. I also go to Blue Plate in Hsv and occasionally get chocolate gravy. My son loves it.
