🏈 Whats up Tide fans

Thanks Tommy, yeah we have some Sooner fans who pull for other teams too. Sooner fans as a whole in general have respect for quite a few programs, and enjoy watching teams around the country, but there is a pure hatred for a few like texas, lsu, usc, and quite a few can't stand ok. st. obviously. I'll be honest, I am not much of a conference guy. I want OU to win and don't really care what any other big 12 school does, unless it has an impact on OU. I do pull for upsets like James Madison over VTech, App St over Michigan and such. Those are fun to watch. It was fun to have texas tech ranked #2 when they came to Norman a couple years ago and put the smack on them. SEC football is always fun to watch. I have always had an eye on Alabama with the exception of a game back in 2002 and one in 2003. :) I don't know why, but I have never detested Alabama winning. Maybe it's a crimson thing. I know I do not want texas winning anything at all.

and yes, we are very proud of "the streak". oh and we call that run Renaldo Works had against you guys at our place in 02 "the run" just fyi. That shows the respect OU fans have for Alabama to name a specific play that happened against a team like Bama. That play really means a lot to Sooner fans. 03 is known as "the fake" too. And in case you guys didn't know, "the superman" is when Roy Williams flew in the air to force an interception and TD that sealed a win over texas. Just a lil Sooner lore for ya.

Dallas really is kind of Oklahoma. I have a lot of family in Keller and Grapevine areas. If you've been to a Sonic in or around the Grapevine, North Richland Hills, Keller, Arlington areas, chances are its one of my Uncle's. We are staying in Plano for OU-texas weekend.

good luck to you guys too.

Thanks Gary, Chickasha eh?, I'm right up i-44 from you in SW Moore. I've had a few friends play football at SNU, (I'm high school class of 96 so I guess I could say "back in the day" LOL) I always pull for Bama. I really can't think of a game where I wasn't on Bama's side, except 02 and 03 against my Sooners of course.

Hey Joe, its kind of a "stand by" thing for schools like OU, osu, tex tech etc. The fans really don't know what all the school officials, regents, etc are thinking but there are some general conceptions. Most people do not know that OU and a couple other Big 12 schools were extremely close to going to the Pac-10 (or 12 now) before all this aTm stuff came about. Texas is the problem with aTm wanting out because of their big money deal with ESPN and their network. It is funny though, because texas wanted to broadcast texas high school games on their network along with a couple of their own games, but the Big 12 stepped in and said "hell no, you're not". Obviously televising high school games is a huge recruiting advantage and I believe the NCAA actually said "no" as well. That would seriously impact recruiting for all texas schools as well as OU because 3/4 of our team is from texas, give or take a fraction. They will allow texas to show one of their own games if and only if the competing school allows it. Which will never happen. But apparently texas received a huge sum of money from ESPN on this network thing and aTm is pissed!

As for OU fans in general, we're more curious about our own future obviously. If aTm jumps then its gonna cause a big change for the Big 12. You might see OU, osu and maybe another school get invites for a Pac-16 super conference. Some believe the Big 12 can survive as long as texas and OU are in it and winning, just add some teams. Many fans want to see the Pac-12 move, but the big argument is OU in the SEC. Thats almost split right down the middle. Some want the challenges and to see you guys and others annually, and others want the easier road to title games like it has been. The road would definitely be easier in the Pac-12.

Right now its kind of wait and see as aTm just got shut down for moving to the SEC, but I think there are bigger things in the works here. I think the SEC is gonna ask Missouri, Clemson, and FSU about coming first. I don't think the SEC will add just one team, and wait a number of years for others to get there. They will want to add 4 and do it at the same time. Its either all can come or no one can. In my opinion, anyway. I'm probably wrong, but it sounds good to me. I think the Big 12 will sit still for now that aTm has been put on hold. texas could go independent anytime they want but I think that screws the conference as a whole. I don't think OU fans really care much about aTm. If they go, they go. Nothing OU can do about it, but we're not really worried about where we go.
