I think we will see a more typical Bama/LSU game than what we witnessed in November just by how things usually go in that game. The game in November was one heck of a defensive game but not so much the 'norm' if years past is any indicator. Usually it's a close game nail-biter game with momentum swinging both ways at times. Rarely is it a blowout and I don't know of game in my lifetime that it was decided in OT, without a single TD by either team. We know statistically what happened in that game, LSU fans know it as well don't let them fool you. Both teams will be rested. You can rest assure Miles will have some wrinkles added for good 'show' measure, this is THE big stage game aferall. He will have his typical smirk. We will also come in with a different approach I'm sure. Playing in November during the middle of the SEC schedule is not the same as playing in January. I doubt our kicking game will be anything stellar as it's just not there for us like other teams but we simply CANNOT make any mistakes on special teams. If we do we will be toast on ST and the momentum will pour like a broken damn I'm afraid. We can beat them. We just can't afford to not capitalize on their mistakes like we did earlier. We HAVE to make TD's and not let any of this earlier game crap get in our heads. We have a solid core of guys who have been there and I know they can help with leadership. I just hope MAC will have another one of his stellar offensive game plans like he has shown he can do.
And then you have the intangibles. A lot of things can happen to a team, both positive and negative, during such a time. Will the LSU Tigers stay out of trouble during that time? Will Team A stay focused more than Team B and not get caught up in "rematch" media crap?
One thing I did notice tonight, and maybe it's just me, but it sure did look like Miles was more 'concerned' about who was playing than Coach Saban was about getting the opportunity to play it. It almost seemed as if Miles was either having some telecommunication delay issues with being mic'd and sync'd up or he had a little bit of worry in who was about to be announced. Maybe he knew before hand though? Hell 'credible source' rumors were flying hours before the 'decision' on ESPN. But it sure didn't look like the same man that said he would be honored to play us again in the National Championship game earlier afer beating us. It was kind of like he saw a ghost. Then again, maybe that's just me...
