I was thinking the same thing. There are lots of place in New Orleans that have the green bean in the bloody Mary. The first I recall having one was at Copeland's restaurants which originated in New Orleans back in the 80's. You also have the celery for purists. And you've got vodka already so olives are never a bad idea. And while you've got a tomato/horseradish thing going - why not just add a friggin' shrimp to the mix? Top it off with a lemon and a lime wedge and it's a pretty damn good BM.
I worked across the street from Al Copeland's office and the original Copeland's on Clearview Pkwy in Metairie back in the 80's. You always knew Al was on his way into the office a mile away by the sound of that bright orange Lanborghini Countach....Haven't been to a Copeland's in years. They closed the one closest to me in Alpharetta around the time Al Copeland passed away. There are still a few here in the Atlanta area. I think the original location on Clearview Pkwy down in Metairie/Jefferson (near the Huey P. Long bridge) is also still open. Their cajun food ain't bad either. I recall their Ricochet Catfish and etouffee...
