🏈 What was your first bama game?

Mine will be in the 2014 season, sadly. I will be out of the country from August 2013 to July 2014. There's only 4 teams on the schedule as of yet (WVU, FAU, WCU, and Auburn) .. and of those four I would definitely want to go to the Iron Bowl, but I probably can't afford it. Of course, this is all nearly 2 years in the future so I don't even know why I am figuring this out yet lol. Already too excited, perhaps :hyper:

I went to a couple when i was really little but I dont even know who it was against because I was too young... first one I actually remember was the 1998 BYU game, 5 TDs from Shaun Alexander... didnt go to another one until the 2001 Independent Bowl. That one was crazy, there was literally like 20 Iowa State fans and the rest pure crimson. Seneca Wallace was so damn good tho, kept pissing me off. Bama play calling was the thing I remember the most about that one, just awful.

My brother took me to my first game back in the '80s. I can't remember the year but it was against Florida at Legion Field. The whole team lined up across the field and did the gator chomp before the game and then we lost. My next game was in '89 as a freshman at the university.
I also got to take my 6 year old son to his first game this year....the Iron Bowl. He is still talking about how we "kicked their hieny".

Guess I'm the old guy here so far. 1975, Sophmore year in high school. Cant remember who we played but we won easily. Sister was a student there and she got us the tickets. The thing I remember the most is all the beautiful women that were on campus. I was in awe and guess I truely fell in love with Bama that day.

1976 Alabama - SMU game. I was 11, went with a buddy whose dad worked for Alabama Power and they got their tickets through work. Legion Field, 50 yard line about four rows in front of Mary Harmon Bryant. The cheerleaders came through our section before the game handing out the old wood and paper shakers, and Bama won 56-3.

RTR,

Tim

I'm still not sure that kick was good.

1992 Bama vs La Tech. Ugly game. Only TD was a 63 yd punt return by David Palmer. It was a present I bought for myself for my 20th Birthday. Took my dad and my best friend.

I can say with 100% honesty that I do not miss Legion Field at all.

1972 in Neyland Stadium. I was too small to be playing football yet, and I don't remember the game much at all other than we won and I was happy. First game in Alabama, Legion Field, was 1985. I did not get to attend a game at Bryant-Denny until 1989 (I think Southern Miss), but I've made up for it since. 1989 I also got to see the Sugar Bowl when we lost to Miami. I'm very blessed that I've gotten to see the Tide play as often as I have.
