CBS does not have a contract with the SEC for the first two weeks of the season. Never have. The TV rights for any SEC games you have seen on CBS in those weeks have been leased from ESPN.

What's crazy? It all goes back to tennis affecting football. That makes no sense.

Never has been a big deal to me. Rarely has there ever been an SEC game in those weeks worthy of being showcased. Most are/were OOC games. And not of the Bama-Texas variety.
