🏈 What Type of Poster are You?

Some guys are statisticians and I admire that. Some are play by play guys that know exactly what every job of every positional player is, some know exactly what weight goes with which position.

I admire all of these guys and usually can't get enough of their breakdowns and explanations of things that go into great detail.

All of the types of posters listed above are getting more and more rare. Many boards don't have a single one; that is how bad it is in some places online. Here, we have quite a few of the above listed posters and they are nice to boot.

Me, I am none of the above. I am more common and ordinary. For me, what I do best, I like to analyze the human behavior of fans and comment on it. That is why I have been dismissed from a couple of boards here and there.

Some say that I am obnoxious and overbearing. Some don't seem to mind me that much and even tolerate me. Mostly, I reserve my most intense displeasure for AuNecks, then Vol fans.

Let me put it this way, I just don't like Aunecks. They are not like us; they are violent and countrified in a bad country way, not a good country way like some.

I can become very descriptive and flowery with language when in a conversation with an AuNeck. The way they spend their lives sucking the marrow out of conspiracy theories is very bizarre.

Anyway, what type of poster are you.

I'm kinda dumb but I like to read the posts and comment every now and then. I'm not a statistician by no means. I mainly go on gut feelings about stuff.

The only thing that has ever bothered me about people posting on gut feelings is they don't say why they have that gut feeling - if that makes sense.

Take the Clemson game last year as example.

About this time of the off season I was worried about the game. But, the closer we got to it the more I started doubting what they had on their offensive line.

My gut feeling when we got to August is we would win the game because of the weakness of their offensive line.

But, I suppose, that can't be called a true gut feeling can it...since it was based on a reason?

Stats just seem to be a thing I can't forget. I don't think they are the end all be all for how a game will end up, but I do think they will lend a hint to a trend one would see in the game.

I guess, I'm schizophrenic. :dazed:

I am just a consumer of the information. I visit the boards several times a day yet rarely, less than rarely, post. I think it is because I feel like I am at a disadvantage experience wise. I mean, I can boast that I was a starter for my sorority im football games!

Overall, I just really enjoy reading the information provided here, I am content with that.:a:

I am not a stats guy or even a rounded sports guy that follows the whole scene. I am just one that can watch the game and enjoy/appreciate it as game. Mainly I follow the Crimson Tide but can enjoy other games mainly to guess how they would fare against the Tide.

My main posting would be with movies and some music which would be in the Houndstooth Den.

Terry, I am glad you responded. Using you as a prime example, you are one of the posters that are great with #'s and having detailed and informational posts about every facet of the team.

Me, I rely more on dry, expressionless attempts at humor and satire. I suppose I can put a different perspective on things that can't be acquired solely by reading stats.

As the old saying goes: It takes all kinds.

I'm the type of poster who adds little to nothing to every thread, but takes up space to keep threads active. The local sunshine pumper if you will, that trys to keep the boards active as a whole during the off-season.

Im your basic homer poster. Have followed the Tide all my life thru thick and thin. Saw Bama beat Ga Tech in late 50's in Atlanta coming from 15-0 half time deficit to beat Tech 16-15 on a Digger O'Dell last second field goal , and and been a true homer since.

Im Crimson Red
Im Southern Bred
Roll Tide Roll:a:

Well I'm 32 and my fondest memory was Van's kick in the Iron Bowl. I grew up a Bama fan and can name quite a few players that I enjoyed watching. The problem is I do not know a lot of their stats and am sometimes intimidated by others on this board. Not that I don't enjoy their posts. Just that I feel if I post next to them it won't be as good.

Don't be intimidated, Tidenumber1. Everyone should post more; we are all the same in that we are all here for the same reason. That should give us all enough commonality to be friendly.
