I painted a helmet on the wall in the gymnasium at the school I teach. It has the number 12 right now!! It will change as soon as hunting season is over. I've had several teachers asked about the number.

Maybe someone who was there can verify, but I don't think they were really set up in the endzone - at least not in the pregame. If you watch it on video, it looks a LOT like blue screen.

no, that is where they were. on that side of the endzone, it looks closer than what I remember

They were in the corner of the Alabama end zone. And yes they replaced the 12 helmet with a 13 helmet after the game. I believe they got Reamer's helemt and polished it up. Tanks was prepared I am sure for the switchout. I watched them trade it out while we were watching the celebration.

Im all for getting Auburn getting a 1/2 on their helments (1957 NC split between Auburn and Ohio State). Whats the chances of that coming true? Anyone good with photo shop?

You are correct sir. I don't understand why some Bama fans want to say AU has half a championship then claim Bama has 13. Several of UA's are split.

The school known as Auburn has not won in part or whole a National Championship in CFB. Alabama Polytechnic Institute won 1/2 of one in 1957 while on probation.
