🏈 What if it had been WVU instead of MO to the SEC?

UGA would have 2 losses, SC would have one, and #1 would be at #3 this week.

You think WVU would have been at #1 over Bama and Oregon? That is, assuming WVU would have beaten both teams. I'm not so sure they could beat UofSC. UGA, once again, has proven itself over-rated.

WVU is 104th in the nation in scoring defense. They have yet to play a team with a real defense, gave up 45 to Texas and 63 to
Baylor - shoot they even gave up 34 to Marshall and 21 to Maryland who held them to 31.

I really doubt that WVU would be doing any where near as well in the SEC. I think even UGA would have beaten them despite the USCe game.

IF all things were the same, except we're switching the two teams, UGA would have opened at WVU with all those suspensions in the secondary.

True - and this is all a big IF - but I would say that opening weekend, even lowly Marshall put up 545 yards on WVU including over 400 in the air, and over 130 on the ground. Marshall even had a higher TOP. Like I said, it's all a big IF, but I like to think that UGA could probably score more than Marshall (more than 34) - Georgia is the 13th highest scoring offense in the nation - and probably hold WVU at least as well as Maryland did (31 points). But we'll never know.

Valid point.

I hate using the word faith and Georgia in the same sentence but here goes; I have no faith in Georgia that makes me think they could have gotten it done.

Anytime hypotheticals about UGA come up I immediately think, "here's a team that's won two of its last 17 games against teams that finished the season ranked." And that's leaving out the point Murray has yet to beat a team ranked in the top 20.

I hear ya. Some of my SEC pride coming out again...
