šŸˆ What do you think will happen coaching wise moving forward at Alabama?

What it means: Dan Enos named Offensive Coordinator | BamaInsider.com

What it means: Dan Enos to Offensive Coordinator

Dan Enos is now the offensive coordinator at Alabama, but some big questions remain as we move closer to the Orange Bowl. I wanted to take some time today and go over what we know right now, what we are seeking to find out, and potential scenarios moving forward. Remember, right now is a pivotal time for Alabama recruiting with the first Signing Day period approaching on the 19th of December (next Wednesday), so while getting all of this organized is important with Oklahoma looming on the 29th, taking care of the number one ranked recruiting class is also of high importance to Nick Saban.

Will Mike Locksley coach through the playoffs?

That has been the question most asked to us on the message board lately. Here is what we know as of today. Yes, from sources close to the program Locksley will stay with the team through the playoffs similar to what Jeremy Pruitt did last season when he was named the head coach at Tennessee.

Will Locksley call the offensive plays?

This is a question we are seeking to find out. If Locksley stays on-board, I see it as a sign that the staff is still in place from this season and nothing changes in terms of the schematics you see on the field against Oklahoma. While Enos has been named the offensive coordinator, we need to find out his current role as of today and during the playoffs.

Is Mike Locksley still recruiting for Alabama?

No. Locksley is recruiting for Maryland right now. Josh Gattis and Brent Key have continued to recruit Locksley’s former targets at the IMG Academy. Nick Saban, Gattis, and Key will be at the IMG today visiting Trey Sanders and Evan Neal.

Will Josh Gattis be the next coach to part ways with Alabama?

There is still a possibility that Gattis does part ways with Alabama, but I don’t think we’ll know about this until after the season. As I mentioned, he’s up for the Appalachian State head coaching job, but do not feel confident he’s the lead candidate. I also feel that the talks between him and Locksley are not over. I assume Saban and Gattis are going to have some very serious talks over the next few weeks.

Butch Jones to Maryland?

Does not look like this is final as of today. Why not? See my thoughts on Gattis. If Gattis does end up going to Maryland after all, Alabama could elevate Jones to receiver coach. Credit Tony Tsoukalas with this idea

More on Enos

It’s very obvious that Enos had a significant role with the development of both Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts this season. Just look at each quarterback’s year over year progress. Hurts came in and demonstrated tremendous growth from a down-field progression standpoint, made some good throws in the pocket, and while Tua is a naturally gifted passer, he too benefited from the knowledge of Enos in terms of reading coverages and slicing up the defense. Some of Tua’s later season errors were more mental mistakes than mechanical.

What will Saban do now that he has an open offensive coaching position?

This is another question we are seeking to find out. Saban has an open spot. He has a few options. These are where things stand now coaching wise.
