The whole rogue booster thing is so blown out of proportion. People dont pay this kinda of money without people knowing. You think the Bama staff wasnt aware of the Albert Means situation? Of course they were.

Bottom line MSU was outbid by Aub for Cecils kid

+1

Best case scenario for Auburn is that they only vacate wins. Worst case is something harsher than USC got, but not the death penalty. Who knows if the NCAA can ever prove Auburn knew? I'll say this, anyone who's not a homer Aub or an idiot knows that Cam got paid. Afterall, "it was a business decision."

I'll add that I don't think Dumbose had a clue about what was up with Means. I am quite certain that the two assistants who recruited Means (Cottrell and Williams) were aware.

The question is really who is the Aubie sugar daddy here. Bobby Lowder is broke.

Reported on radio--Tracy Wolfson just twittered that Auburn's official response regarding Cam's eligibility was "No comment." :headscratch:

I just want Cam Newton on the field when Auburn plays Bama. I don't want a repeat of listening to stuff like "If Colt McCoy hadn't gotten hurt blah blah blah . . ."

I've been saying it, and ive been saying it....i belive it's Jimmy Raines.
Ever been to Albertville? Everyone in that litte town knows him and young & old.........
they all call him "Uncle Jimmy". He owns the whole town. It was commented to me there
that they could have moddled Boss Hogg from the Dukes of Hazerd after him he has such a
stranglehold on that place. He's the largest emplyoer there btw.

The $100.00 hand shakes are now a UPS truck with a small box full of prepaid visas cards (untracable btw) already loaded with small ammounts
of cash.100.00 to 500.00 to 1,000 t each & a note that read "War Eagle". On this....i'm not telling you what i think, or what i belive, or what i heard.
I'M TELLING YOU WHAT I KNOW AS A FACT. The box was opened, and imeadiatly resealed and returned with the contents still inside.
And had i been allowed to get the proof of it.....it would have went stright to Indiana. This box came from Albertville, Al.

Auburn is dirty. And i'm not just saying this becuse of my i open hate for EVERYTHING Auburn.
The good ol boy club over there running the show is so arrogant that they belive they will never get caught.
So much so that i belive they actually thought they cold get by with the Newton thing too.
Aparently no one bother to tell them that Mulllen reported it to the SEC/NCAA. Some one told Tennnesee
but they didn't tell Auburn or they just didn't give a flaying rats ass and belived they cold cover it up.

Yeah and if they hadn't payed for Newton, they'd be a 4 loss team right now. As i predicted.
So there is you reply to that BS Bear. It's hard to play the victem when you've been playing with a stacked deck.

It seems odd that MSU had Newton (atleast from the accounts I have heard and seen) wrapped up during the recruiting process, only to lose him at the last minute to AU. There is often a reason why that kind of thing happens. Yeah, sometimes a kid just changes his mind at the last minute, but there seems to usually be a lot more to it than that. Something was done or given to the kid or the family to cause the switch. Anyone who doesn't beleive that lives in a dream world that doesn't exist. Recruiting is a dirty, dirty business.

I have no doubt whatsoever that AU committed violations in regard to Cam Newton. They may not get caught, but they did it. If you're in major college football and you're not committing recruiting violations, you're probably not a very good program.

The NCAA told them not to comment from the beginning, and they responded by commenting every chance they got. Now, all of a sudden, they take them up on their advice. UA has done some dumb and arrogant stuff in the past when dealing with the NCAA, but when all this is said and done, auburn might be re-writing the book on how NOT to deal with them.

It appears to me that Commissioner Slive is more concern about Mississippi State not informing the SEC office first about these allegations, than he actually is about getting to the truth regarding Cam Newton's recruitment.

I find this rather odd, considering that the national perception about SEC recruiting practices already is not very flattering. Shouldn't Slive be more concerned about resolving the Cam Newton issue than about being slighted by State for not reporting it to them.

Is Commish Slive be more concerned about the money the SEC Conference could potentially lose should Auburn not remain in the NC hunt than finding out the truth behind Newton's recruitment?

:headscratch:

 I get that impression too.

He sits quietly all week and then breaks his silence with this???

What exactly did Miss. State do wrong?

I can somewhat understand where Slive is coming from here. I'd be pissed too.

1. Miss State contacts the SEC about improper recruitment from the Newton's.
2. NCAA ask for all evidence of such so they can investigate.
3. MSU does not comply with the request of evidence and finally gives some of it 6 months after the request.
4. Someone from MSU leaks the information they passed to the SEC and ALSO speaks of actual recording of conversations.
5. The media is now running with the information that MSU didn't provide to the NCAA in January and the NCAA is standing by wondering why in the hell the SEC didn't pass along information to them regarding the taped conversations.

As a supervisor, I can definitely understand where Slive is coming from. I'd be pissed too if I was handed pieces of information about a problem in my company and had to learn about the rest of the information by watching Sportscenter while getting ready for work.

I believe MSU was ALSO trying to cover up the secret meetings with Cecil while discussing money. I also believe MSU seriously entertained the thoughts of paying the money.

My guess is when the NCAA recommended they declare Cam ineligible, earlier today reportedly, Auburn had to go the official "no comment" route. Before that it doesn't look like anyone was snooping around Auburn officially so they were probably in a gray area and decided to play it fairly aggressively.

My guess is tomorrow is Cam's last game for a while.
