No one has pick Bama to repeat as the BCS Champ this year. Ever more no one has pick any SEC to win it. Well one was going to pick an SEC team until Honey got kick off the team. I guess six in a row is just to much for them to talk about.

I agree with BamaJay, I think everyone outside of SEC country wants to see another team win it. Even still, you would think that one of the "educated" football analysts would at least pick Bama to play in the game! :headscratch:

The media has been dying for USC or Oregon to win one, I give USC some credit, they are going to be very good but all the hype with Oklahoma I think is crap. They lost starters on the O-line and in the receivers corp. Not sure why Florida State is getting so much hype either.

It's common for people to pick easy schedules and returning starters as favorites.

It hasn't worked that way for a long time, but never-the-less, it's an easy pick.

Thing is , everyone is pointing to the amount of starters that we lost from the defensive side. No one thinks it's possible to plug in players and have success. The point of view is understandable since really the only coach that has had success no matter what players he had in recent memory is Bill Bellichek so , you know unless Saban studied under him it's hard to imagine that he could do something like that. Wait a minute.....

After the game Herbstreit, when asked by Musberger who he picked for the NC game, said USC vs. Florida State. He then said, "Can I change my mind after what I saw tonight?"

I think they're all just DYING for a non-SEC championship game, and doubt they'll get it.

As an LSU fan, I loved seeing BAMA totally dismantle the Wolverines, and for that matter, Tennessee do the same to NC State. Too bad Auburn couldn't close the deal with Clemson, though I doubt many on this board minded...

Looks like Game of the Century 3 on November 3rd!

Yep its gonna be for the west if we get by Arkansas. I think Arkansas has a good team this year if not for their selfish Coach they might even be mentioned with LSU and Bama. Prob should be anyways.

Good to see ya back in these here parts.

I'm sure RollTideRandy loved your game as well as much as he hates N. Texas.

On the subject at hand, while I've said I thought UT would be improved this year and makes some waves in the SEC, I'm still unsure how they are going to stack up for 8 conference games. Bray looked sharp. Their running game? That sideline to sideline BS won't take anyone, anywhere.

Auburn vs Clemson. I really didn't watch any of it other than a quick jump during commercials. U.G.L.Y.

Just some bad football from what little I've seen. The U had it on a few hours ago so I'm sure I'll catch it something later this week.

Coming out of week one the biggest question mark in the SEC is in Gainesville IMO.

Less than 24 hours after their win I was already seeing "we kept our D vanilla" to hide the scheme from Bama.

Maybe. I have my doubts.

And, fwiw, even with Petrino I didn't see how they were going to win this year when we travel to Fayetteville. Closer than last year? Yes.

The loss of the play calling ability of Bobby is going to hurt that team more than they, and a lot of others, are thinking. He was worth two wins a year.

I hear ya, you cant scheme against that O-line we have and the backs, maybe try to, but even with a Chocolate D scheme they are gonna have to stop that line. Tall order. I still think Arkansas is a good team though.

I don't care if the SEC wins the NC this year or not unless it's Bama. I'm not a SEC homer per se, but if the SEC puts a team in then I want them to crush whoever they're playing unless it's EVER Tennessee then I hope they get crushed.

I might be a fool, but I'm not scared of Arkansas at all (wasn't before their game) because they don't have the defense to stop our offense imho. They have a decent QB that can sling the ball, but how's he going to sling the ball on us if he's lying on his back?

Tennessee was awful they just so happened to be playing a worse team.

Auburn's d-line didn't look as good as ESPN was hyping them up to be and they're run defense is just plain awful.

LSU I think will be good whether they have Honey or not, they do scare me, but we're a ways away from playing them and by then we'll know what type of team we have.

An LSU buddy of mine and I were laughing the other day at how funny it would be if it ended up being LSU vs Bama again in the Championship.

I don't think the voters would let it happen, but hell, if they're the two best in the nation again, they're the two best.

Their only option, as I see it, is trying to implement things to confuse AJ on passing downs.

That said, it's equatable to giving a student who majored in Calculus an Algebra test and expecting him to be lost.

I ran through the LSU vs N. TX game this morning. There's a lot of questions there as well. I'm assuming they looked at N. TX as just a bump in the road and didn't take the game as seriously as they would a conference game. It's all that makes sense.

I don't think that is an indictment on Alabama but a commentary of how difficult it is to repeat.

There is some anti-SEC sentiment at play I'm sure. Heading into the season it was the lack of returning starters, now it will be "is Bama that good or is Michigan that bad?"

I've already debated this with a few people. Yes, Robinson made a boat load of mistakes but Bama put him in those positions. Someone telling me the only reason for the loss was Michigan's screw-ups and not give Bama credit was a bit much, even to me as an AU guy.

Perhaps.

A lot more have explained their choices as "look at their schedule" as compared to "going through the SEC slate."

I understand how someone would put an undefeated FSU team in over a one loss SEC team. If that happens, there will be this question asked repeatedly.

Is this FSU team better than a one loss SEC team?

I used to work with a guy who, upon entering the office in the morning, would invariably be asked, "How's it going?" He would say, "Too early to tell." I think it's too early to tell about many of these teams. Remember Oklahoma last year. Dominating in their early matchups.

Too early to tell...
