🏈 What Alabama football players have you met?

No pictures.....I am from Florence, and i am friends with Freddie Roach's cousin. So one night my friend shows up to play some ncaa football on playstation, and in walks through my door is Freddie Roach. This was the summer of his senior year i think......he wasn't very good at NCAA. He kept calling out real football lingo while playing, and my freind kept reminding him it's just a game.

Andrew Zow - met him after the 2005 Florida game, he is a really nice guy even talked to me for a few minutes

Eric Copeland - quiet guy but nice I was just getting his autograph at a booth

George Teague - also a nice guy was a little bit more approachable and easier to talk to joked around a bit more than copeland ( they were at the booth together)

Tyrone Prothro - quite and humble didn't want to talk much but was nice about it

Richard Todd - really nice talkative guy shook my hand and everything.

I always take goofy pics but I'll look for the ones I have and post em up if I find em :)

Derrick Thomas -Hall of Fame Bowl vs Michigan in Tampa, very nice guy

Jay Barker, Andrew Zow, Kenny Stabler, Johnny Musso, Copeland & Curry, Bart Starr, Baumhower, Ozzie Newsome, John Parker Wilson, Freddi Milons, and there may be more.

and the funniest one of all- Jeff Fagan (FB late '70's) was a Platoon SGT in my unit when I was in the army. Said he had tried the NFL and didnt like it and ended up in the Army. He always wanted to join us in football games.Great guy.

Shaun Alexander (while at Bama) -- Spotted him eating at a restaurant in Tuscaloosa, and sent my son (10yrs old) over with a pocket schedule (one with him on the cover) for an autograph. Thought it cool when Shaun slid over in the booth and had my son hop up in the seat with he and his buddy. After a minute or so, I realized that I would have to go get the boy becuase Shaun was cool with him just hanging with them. Thats when/ho I got to me Shaun myself.

David Palmer -- For a guy so gifted on his feel, my wife first met him when he stepped on her toe...the one she had broke previously in the week. Her first words to him were screamed point blank. (She still get mad at me when I laugh at that story.)

Joe Nameth (in Tuscaloosa, after his his Bama days) -- When I was around 7 yrs old, my folks took me to eat at the restaurant in Tuscaloosa that use to carry his name. He was there. As we left, he was leaving. He was quick to stop and sign an autograph. Nice enough I guess...but that has been a few moons.

Harry Gilmer - Had breakfast with him on several occasions while living in O'Fallon, Missouri.

David Palmer - Ran across David at a gas station in Irondale, AL. Cool guy.

Bill Searcy (sp?) - Worked with Bill who played for Coach Bryant as a Center.

John Creed Gilmer - Went to church with him.

Cornelius Bennett - Ran into "Biscuit" on several occasions including a Birmingham Fire game in the old WL.

My dad got stationed over here in Germany (USAF) so to me this has been super cool. There's a man here who goes by Ahmad Spidell who played on the scout team (or whatever the secondary team's called). He's Sam Shade's 1st cousin and knows coach Saban and everything. Also there's a man here who played first string basketball and played a little in the NBA by the name of Tommy Jones. I feel pretty fortunate having met these fine men who've shared their experiences with me as collegiate athletes that played for my favorite team, especially seeing as I'm a whole atlantic away from where I'd love to be (or at least on Saturdays) :)

Having been a walk on in the late 80s, I was around a lot of the big names. I must say that having namath come to practice to talk with us was the best. How often do you get tips from a hall of famer? I had a few classes with guys like david palmer and big shot bob from the basketball team.

I've met countless one's at parties and bar's over the last couple of years, but I only have a couple with autographs.

Tyler Watts - Met him at the Mobile Flea Market of all places, it was the summer after his last season.

Lane Bearden - He was with Tyler, he was just as down to earth as him...got both their autographs.

Bobby Humphrey - My dad's principal when he was in high school was the principal at Brookwood(?) where Bobby was coaching at the time. Met him at a football game and got his autograph.

John Copeland - Shook his hand at a AISA game between Tuscaloosa Academy and my Alma-mater Marengo Academy. Didn't have anything for a autograph, he's a assistant there.

Guess which one's him.

JPW - Met him at a bar years ago, very cocky but still had nice words.

Mike Johnson - Very nice down to earth guy, shook his hand at a party.

Many others...can't really remember them all right now.

i got to hang out with Julio and mark one day . We played basketball, wii, hit a few golf balls. Mark can crush a golf ball. It was .....really unbelievable but meeting them you understand.....that they are just young boys. They were very nice and polite. i mean no disrespect but they are at 19 and 20 just boys. i had a blast.

I've met several in my time, but my most memorable moment was getting to play some pick up bball with Cornelius and Craig Turner.

We used to see Cornelius and Craig washing their cars in the apartment complext we lived in. Oe day after doing that, they walked over to the court where a bunch of us 13 and 14 year old kids were hanging out and playing and asked if they could play. They didn't stay but about 10 minutes, but we enjoyed the experience, and were glad to have them hang out with us for a little bit.
