🏈 Well Said....First Take's Stephen A. Smith on Julio Jones

I appreciate Julio for who he is and how he plays when he know he isn't getting the ball. I've argued with a few coworkers most of the season that Julio is the best WR in the NFL and I get labeled a homer.

But I also appreciate Gronk for being himself.

Kinda funny to hear Stephen A talk about professionalism :bolt:

Stephen A. basically summed up how I feel about the NFL. Julio is a breath of fresh air in the middle of carbon monoxide testing at Chevrolet!! I used to watch the NFL and even had 2 favorite teams growing up, the Cowboys and the Dolphins. Somewhere around one of the strikes, I lost interest. I feel it was it because of those players wanting the limelight and wanting more of it just like Stephen A. explained. I only watch now to see our BAMA boys go to work.

I remember watching his film when he was being recruited and thinking I'd never seen a player like that before. He was the definition of a "can't miss" talent. Like SAS said it's rare to see an NFL receiver like that who is so good but so humble (or rather professional), these days anyway. He can go from being targeted 15 times for 12 catches and 300 yards one week to 6 targets, 2 catches for 29 yards the next and you never heard/saw him brag or complain about either.

True enough but Smith is the poster child for clowning up the NFL. Julio is a rarified talent that is just better than anyone lining up his opposite. Sherman didn't have a chance. Going to be interesting to see how the Patriots decide to pick their poison.

Exact same thing for me. Grew up watching the Raiders(mom and dad's team) and the Cowboys(liked Landry, reminded me of Bryant and also Ed "Too Tall" Jones). Then the strikes happened and I quit caring about any pro sports. Was a Lakers and Dodgers fan as a kid. Now only watch the playoffs and keep up with how former Bama players are doing.
