Iowa had a great season. One that they all will certainly remember. I would not have minded seeing a Bama-Hawkeye matchup. I'm guessing now it will be a Bama-Sooner, or Bama-Spartan matchup in the first game. College Football season takes too long to get here, and then is over way too fast.

I've got relatives that live in Iowa and root for the university. I tend to follow Iowa football some during the season. Was actually hoping they would win for the possibility of a Bama/Hawkeye game.

I actually had a problem with the fact that, as soon as the game was over, the Florida band started their fight song. Great fans, or poor sports? You lost. Pack it in and go, or for school pride, play your alma mater. But don't play YOUR fight song after we kicked your ass! Am I wrong?

Weird situation, @PhillyGirl Our seats were in the Florida section, pretty close to the band (God, please let me get that little Viagra song about "Get up and go" out of my head). Many of the fans around us wished us luck in the playoff. Most of the ones around us harbored no illusions of winning the game, even after the punt return. But what was funny was the fact they were leaving early, down by only two scores. Seems like most teams' fans would believe they were still in the game. The fans that stayed either had a ride somewhere else in the stadium and didn't want to leave or wanted to yell obnoxious things they thought were cute.

The fans in the Florida section stood at all times the ball was put into play. Funniest comment I heard... The Bama fan next to us learned Matt Austin was officiating, and he said, "Oh no, we are spotting you guys seven points right off with Austin as referee." One of the Florida fans said, "Well, good, we haven't scored seven in weeks."

I have to say, Iowa was much better than I thought.

Iowa D was well schooled, and they are good tacklers. I was suspicious of them because of their schedule, but even in losing they impressed me.

One of the Florida fans told us that the Gator player in the scuffle, who started it and should have been ejected and caused trouble the whole game, had been voted back onto the team by the seniors within the last week. He should not have even been at the game much less in it.
