Not a good day for Alabama on day one after having two of the top guys in the 10,000 meter and getting zero points. If this team wanted to finish high, they had to have those points. The team's final season ranking calculated the Tide getting big points in the 10k. Hate to say it, but things do not look good at all.

Bama gets through to the final in the 4x400. Second place in that event is a tossup, but no team is touching Texas A and M in the 4x400. Still, losing those points in the 10,000 hurt...bad. Early in the season those guys ran a minute faster than the winning time today. A full minute. I think we peaked two months early.

Yeah, that's it right there. Ingles can't decide if he wants to look like Prefontaine or Kurt Russel in "Big Trouble In Little China". Dude's probably going to win the 1500 too if he can get past that Scottish guy Josh Kerr who, while he doesn't have a mullet, does have a mangy beard (of sorts).

Not the results UA would have liked but definitely a good sign when you are there and take a good portion of your team.
True, true, true. They have had a great season. To me it looks like they get good points in the 200 and 110 hurdles. Maybe the 4x400. The 10k guys were struggling so much early in that race yesterday. It was obvious what was getting ready to happen in the last half. Have to admit the team has come a long, long way.

Kerr, the Scottish guy, won the 1500 - mullet Ingles third. Florida wins the men's title in an upset. Coleman scored all of Tennessee's points and finished ahead of Alabama - who was as high as fifth in predicted finish and wound up tenth. Bama was only 17 points out of third and light years behind Florida and A & M.

My own opinion, but no one is catching Florida at the national meet as long as Holloway is there, and he's a freshman. He's like having a favorite shirt that goes with lots of different shorts, pants, and shoes - he gets points on relays, jumps, and individual sprints. Now if Bama had a team full of Garanimals...?

Florida getting 18 points in the long jump helped them tremendously.
Florida's men win the championship.

Spoiler alert:

If you haven't watched the women's meet, you should watch the final event, the 4x400. After one of Oregon's 100 m girls fell, she simply walked away from the track, costing her team the one point she would have earned walking across the finish line. In the 4x400 second place would have left Oregon .2 behind Georgia in the overall standings. That one point could have been huge. But, Oregon won again.
