I'd have to look it up to see if this is correct but it seems to me that this former Ole Miss coach still relives a game against Bama...

It's an interesting comparison at the least:

Maybe its me, but I didn't walk away impressed by Stanford last night. They played from a 7 OL set most of the game (not TE's, but OL). Won't surprise me if they get to an 11 OL set one of these days .

Mariota was clearly injured, seems like that MCL report is accurate.

With regards to Heisman, this game wouldn't impact my decision. I wouldn't vote for Mariota as I expect accuracy to be better than 63% even with him not throwing any INTs. I would vote for Manziel again...he's clearly on the team with the least tools and has put up some stellar numbers. Jameis kinda falls into the McCarron group with me, suffers from too much talent around him. I'd love to see McCarron get it, but I just don't see it happening, he has all the things the winner should have but he won't get it.

It's just you against the nation, Matt.

Spot on with your OL observations though. I got a laugh out of this tweet:

@KegsnEggs: "What position do you play for Stanford, son?" "I play right, right, right guard, sir."

I'd dare say your lack of being impressed has to do with what it takes for the Oregon offense to be slowed down—fundamental football.

The biggest thing that hit me last night were the comments about Mariota and his fumbling issues. All we've heard over the last few weeks is "no INT's."

I don't see how his knee has anything to do with the inability to hold on to the football, ya know? (not to mention a few scrambles to move the chains.)

Yup, agree about the fumbling. Kinda seems like Oregon stopped playing Oregon football (not taking anything away from Stanford's defensive play).

Ah, the infamous 9 OL Stanford set, just ridiculous...but hell it worked. Guess Stanford found out that they don't need to fake injuries to slow down the Oregon offense.

This was the first "Welcome to November football game" AND there will be more. Hoping Alabama doesn't trip up tomorrow, I'm anxious to see how we stop Hill and their 2 WR's.

I think Mariota showed some great leadership. He seemed very off last night (nerves? Pressure? Injury?) but you could still see him pumping up his teammates and supporting then even when hope seemed lost. His play wasn't great but every guy has a trip up game at some point.

@BarrettSallee: Without the BCS, those games last night wouldn't have been nearly as exciting.

@KegsnEggs: Your hypothetical BCS National Championship spread posted on @Sportsbook_com: Alabama (-3) vs. Florida State.

Just glanced at lines:

Bama +205
FSU +1425

That's not reflecting -3 offshore...
Don't tell anyone...but the BCS is working; again.

I caught this yesterday but haven't been able to find the gif or video til now! Baylor defender caught engaging crowd in back of end zone while Oklahoma begins play.

Oregon looked completely out manned up front. Stanford did a great job at getting penetration and containing Mariota. Was at a bar down here and everyone was cheering for Stanford. Thought the game was over, so I was driving home at the start of the 4th. Got home, saw the score was 26-20 :chargrined:
