šŸ’° SPRTSBK Week 1 SEC spreads via @CaesarsSports: Alabama (-31) vs. Utah State

I said that I liked the matchup of Cutcliffe's play calling against the defense as a gauge to where the defense was at that point. If you'll recall, he was as unorthodox as he's ever been with his calls: calling "run stunts" practically every play.

It—Cut's play calling style—worked on one series of the first three or four...and then again right before the half. Bama allowed a little over 100 yards rushing that game. It was indicative of how they defended the run all season—or how well they didn't defend the run.

You remember the two losses of '19? Both Auburn and LSU's main backs had over 100. People were pointing to Burrow's 390+ in the air where it was Edwards-Helaire's five yards per carry that broke their back (like Whitlow's yards per carry in the loss to Auburn.)

My contention here is Utah State isn't the worst opener: I'd take this Aggie team over that Duke team.
Just poking you Terry. I usually put a lot of value in your posts but when you were building up Duke you lost me. Sorry but Duke will always be Duke as will several others schools. Occasionally they will come out and have a good year or two but in the end there is not enough substance to sustain with their support system.

Why not? An FCS team has been the season opener: WCU.

Based on what Utah State is fielding they are a better than than a few Bama has opened with: 'ville, as mentioned, as well as WCU. San Jose State says, "hold my beer." Meanwhile, Duke and San Jose State enter the chat.

Well shit. I've clearly forgotten about those games. Guess it's debatable.

Appears I doubled down on stupid ;)
