Why do people assume that by having a nickname for a stadium means we're doing it to make it a tougher place to play? I swear, the word "gimmick" is used WAAAAY too loosely in our fanbase.

I see what you mean, but I don't necessary think anyone takes giving our backs nicknames seriously. Seems to me that people do it because the nicknames are pretty funny and I'd have to agree. I mean, just look at the way Ingram chuckled when he was told about "Fast and Furious."

It's apples and oranges to me.

Why to we "need" or "require" a nickname to have one? I'm sure at one point we didn't "need" an Elephant costume roaming the sidelines. We don't "need" any HD video screens in our stadium either.

I do like the running back duo nicknames mainly because they will both be gone someday. I thought "The Fast and the Furious" was a good one.

Just because other teams do something doesn't automatically make it bad. Was Alabama the first team to play licensed music such as "Thunderstruck" in stadium? I sure hope so because I would hate to think that Alabama blatantly ripped off a cute gimmick like that!
