It's no surprise SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum is picking Alabama to win the SEC this season, but who might unseat the Crimson Tide as the nation's top-ranked team by season's end?

Finebaum appeared Sunday morning on SportsCenter and labeled two teams who could challenge Nick Saban's machine when preseason rankings release in August.

"It will not be a big surprise — Alabama is going to be No. 1 and I don't think it's going to be close," Finebaum. "The most interesting thing is will Florida State be No. 2. We've never had a 1 vs. 2 matchup in the opening weekend. We always get that in the final game. This could be the first time. Alabama's a 5.5 to 6.5-point favorite and I think that's a very dangerous game.

"Alabama does not have very many dangerous games. Really the opener against FSU and the closer at Auburn, a place where the Tide lost four years ago. Other than that, most of the others games are going to be laughers."

Seems like everyone is singing the same song.

Problem with the first week of the season, there is an awful lot of hype on those games. Question is, do they live up to the hype.

Javier Arenas says Bama wins this game big...

Ok. Another summer expert
All should believe the FSU game is for real....a given
But the AU love.....????? Dont get it
A QB transfer that played ay Baylor...wow!!!
Decent OL and RB
A D that is mediocre
And still the same old High School approach to offense....
And a schedule that is unforgiving...
@ clemson
@ LSU
@ark
@ AnM
And Bama and UGA ....that it took miracles to beat in 2013....
And 5 of the above are in the last 7 or 8 (I think)weeks of the season
3-4 lost team...maybe 5..and that good only because they draw Missouri out of the east and MSU n ole ms at home...
A 6-6 wouldn't surprise me

Right..they will be riding high after the first 6.....@ 5-1....
And then ...........
Thats a lot for anyone last 6 weeks of season....

except they get the added luxury of 5 SEC aways games.
There's a side of me that hopes that comes back to bite them in the ass considering how Alleva did his "we won't lose a home game" stance last year. If there was a year to lose one, it would be Orge's first season, ya know? Now he's truly on the clock and starting at a disadvantage.

Talk about being a prisoner of the moment, Alleva had already lost 2 games when he came up with the great compromise with Florida. They have already let it be known many times they hate having the Gators as permanent opponents every season while we get Tennessee and then he agrees to play them 3 out of the next 4 years in Gainesville. The real winner, Alabama.

The FL ....LSU....thing was one of the stupid moments of CF I have seen...
.......first...you dont play a game when other things matter more...its a GAME
...second...if you cant reschedule...... cancel....
.... FL should have just played like it was their home game....
....move it to a neutral site...birmingham.....Ga Dome...or unaffected city clser to FL..
Whatever....big egos with their toys....
