Ohio State wasn't "really" 14-0

You are right,Randy. I started thinking about this and wondered how can OSU be 14-0 without a conference championship game?

Teams played 4 non-conference games in 2002.

Bama played Oklahoma, Southern Miss, North Texas, and MTSU. Hawaii was added as a 5th game...

Thanks Elephantitis, I went back to the 2002 schedule and noticed that OSU played 5 regular season non-conference games in 2002. They also had some very close games during the last 6 weeks of the season (all but one game decided by 7 points or less).

Also found out that OSU is only the second team in Division 1/FBS to win 14 games in a season. BYU actually went 14-1 in 1996.

Hope the Tide can chalk up another victory next weekend.

What was the game called, "The Kickoff Classic..or was it the "Pigskin Classic?"

It was that game that gave them the extra game for 2002. If I recall correctly, it was against a Texas Tech team that had their moment in the national spotlight and was beaten pretty badly as well. I want to say the Buckeyes came close to hanging 50 on that Leach team.
