I took a friend yesterday to the game. He is a long time fan of another team I will not mention lol. And before I begin, he is not a barner. I have much more class than that. He wanted to go down and see the players come in. After we left The Walk he was talking about how anti-climatic it was. The more I thought about it the more I realized he was right. Its about like a funeral out there. The is no organized cheering. The music doesnt begin until the buses are just about to stop. The team doesnt pay attention to the fans one single bit and I know they are getting focused and all, but geez giving a couple of high fives never hurt anyone ya know. I just wonder what could we do as a crowd to boost it up. Im I the only one who thinks its just kinda boring?

maybe its because these other schools have been doing it so long. our "walk" is just now a few years old. I wish the university would ease up a little on the 15 foot gap that keeps our fans from getting close to our beloved players. i think the crowd would be more involved if they felt like they were really a part of something great. miss st for instance hardly ever wins alot but their fans and players sure seem to feel a part of their pregame walk. thats all im saying. hey we are winning and by god im happy. it doesnt mean we cant do some other things a little better though.

When I flew down last year for the Miss St game the players gave high fives and the crowd was cheering and the music was cranking it was a really great time. And to think it was only like 40 degrees that day.....cold for sure.

FWIW, the "Walk of Champions" is where they are, not what they are doing.

It's a bigger crowd now than it was on the south end...but, I have to admit, it's one of those things I look at and don't really care.

No offense to anyone who enjoys it...just my .02 worth.

I've attended plenty of the "walk of Champions" at Bama. Some do have a better atmosphere, and some the players are more interactive. Its hit or miss. I see alot of high fives and smiling by the players. The elephant stomp should be moved so that they march in with the players, or at least a pep band to help pump it up.

Not to offend anyone either but I do not care about the walk either. As long as our guys come to play that is all that matters to me.

completely agree. Its copied from Aub of all the places

I've criticized this ever since it started. I can't stand how the fans are basically ignored. I get the "focus" of the players, and whatever else you want to say it is. I don't have to like it though. I don't want the guys juking and jiving with the fans, but a few high fives and some acknowledgment would be nice.

I just don't go anymore. I can't change them, and they can't change me. It doesn't affect how big of a fan I am. I still love 'em, but I do wish there was a little more love shown to us outside the combines of a football field. That's all.

Thats has been my feelings all along. You are much more well spoken than I. Thank you.

You guys must be doing it wrong . I've gotten high fives from cody and others.

Personally I could care less if they paid me or anyone else attention. It's minutes before game time and the last thing on their mind is some rabid fan or something other than the game. I'm sure CNS reminds them to stay focus and keep wearing the headphones.

Don't take it so personal or get your feelings hurt if they don't pay you any attention. It's nothing personal and at that point it's all business for them.

A couple of high fives and hand shakes...
