The No. 12 Alabama women's golf team begins play Thursday at the NCAA Central Regional on Oklahoma State's par-72, 6,200-yard Karsten Creek Golf Club.

The third-seeded Crimson Tide will be looking to earn one of eight bids to the NCAA Championships out of the 24-team Central Regional. It will be the Tide's second trip to the NCAA Central Regional, advancing to the NCAA Championships in 2008 with a sixth-place finish at the University of Texas Golf Club.

The regional, which runs May 8-10, marks the ninth straight year that the Crimson Tide has qualified for NCAA Regional play under head coach Mic Potter, the longest consecutive streak in team history, and the 16th overall appearance. Alabama head coach Mic Potter's lineup will consist of senior Stephanie Meadow, sophomore Emma Talley, sophomore Janie Jackson, redshirt freshman Cammie Grayand true freshman Mia Landegren. It is the first time this season Alabama has started this lineup.

Talley was a second team All-SEC selection for the second straight year while Jackson is coming off a tie for fifth at the SEC Championship. Gray and Landegren are making their first start in postseason competition.

For Potter, the regional berth marks the 21st consecutive appearance by a team under his direction.
