Wow...

You'll just have to watch the video and gather your own judgment. Yeah, she punched him first, but that might be out of self defense too. Regardless, she's not Rhonda Rousey...

I am amazed that Meggs is going to prosecute him. Well, maybe I should temper that. He's not a Heisman candidate after all...

Sadly it's the world we live in where kids are raised to see no wrong in this kind of action. My kids will be carrying at all times when they leave the house at 18 for college. You just never know when it could be your turn when you have folks like this frequenting the same places as you.

And I would love to know how this kid could afford Baez, the guy that got Casey Anthony off a seemingly slam dunk murder charge. No way they could afford this guy. Must be a friend of the program, already an alumni of the school.

Ha, just saw the video. Punkass punches like a wimp. The girl was more shocked than hurt as she took it like a champ. They dismissed his ass. Can't believe Florida State stood up. Didn't have as much invested in him is my guess.

FSU released him...kinda shocked considering all the stuff Jameis got away with.

Thanks to the new SEC transfer rules, he won't be ending up at Auburn or anywhere else in the SEC.

Besides to play quarterback at auburn you must have committed theft, been ruled academically ineligible, been a back up corner back or must be a sociology major..lol

Next time they show Auburn's starting lineup with majors, watch how many sociology and physical education majors they have..very funny. My wife is an Auburn Grad and some of her friends even laugh at sociology classes. Well known, before and since they got busted for issues related to it, that Sociology and PE were where almost every player that couldn't read was and that they never saw them in a class.

There was a list out there with the guys that had studied sociology at Auburn and it was a who's who of their list of thugs.

Speak of Auburn, I just got back from my trip to Montana. Was talking to a neighbor and I thought I saw a guy walk by with an Auburn shirt and I believe he was walking with his wife. Naturally I yelled, is that an Auburn shirt, he said yes it is, I quickly responded Roll Tide, he just kept walking. I can't tell you how many Auburn fans I've said Roll Tide to over the years and they never respond with a War Eagle, they have some really lousy fans...

Tallahassee police say the woman was ordering a drink at Yianni’s Nightclub around 11:30 p.m. on June 24th when she felt De’Andre Johnson pushing her from behind.

When the woman raised her arm to stop Johnson from pushing her, he grabbed her arm and continued to push, according to police. The woman told police she then raised her knee to Johnson’s midsection to shove him away from her and attempted to strike him with her fist to get him to release his grasp.

Police say Johnson then punched her on the left side of her face before they were separated.

So .. it sounds like we only saw a small part (albeit the big part) of the encounter.

i watched the whole video.......

My personal Opinion

1) He's wrong for hitting her.
2) she should also face some type of charge.....

He was being a jerk the way he was shoving by, looks like he said something very inappropriate to her before she raised her leg to fend him off. Looked to me like she was doing what every girl would do unless they went and got her boyfriend either way looked like he caused it and then acted like an idiot and punched a girl in the face.

There is no justifiable reason for his action. Pure stupid thugery!

With everything going on out there these days, I would tell my daughter to protect herself against anyone touching her that she didn't approve of. I mean shit, look at the same team last year where Winston got away with rape. Why should the girl face charges? What exactly did she do wrong? Telling me if I came and pushed up on you and grabbed your arm that you wouldn't try and get away from me any way possible? Come on, be real, not another righteous conformed member of the media or said fanbase.

I'm being real. HE IS AN ABSOLUTE IDIOT FOR HITTING HER. ...... But lets go this route.

PRIOR TO HIM HITTING HER

So what you're saying is that Amari Cooper is at a bar....he begins making his way past people in a crowded place (shoulder to shoulder) to get to the bar. One of the individuals turns to him with fist raised. He grabs their arm. They knee and kick......cops come and Cooper is arrested and charges are filed. Is that the end of the story and Cooper is in the wrong? He's a thug or that was thuggish of him right??

Don't get me wrong, in no way am I standing up for Johnson or excusing what he did.

Are we at a crowded place where people are constantly bumping into me......and did I turn to you with my fist raised?

My take on it is, first, he deserves whatever he gets - kicked off the team, arrested and fined. No excuse for that escalating the way it did.

Second, watching the video you can see that as the three other customers are leaving, he got boxed out and she tried to commandeer the entire space for her and at least one other companion. She put a pretty aggressive body block on him after he tried to establish a little bar space, telling him (and I'm not a great lipreader) that she had that space. She raised her hand with a pointed thumb, I don't think it appeared as a raised fist to punch but as a "move along", and he was wrong to start grabbing her arms. After that, everything that transpired was on him - grab a girl, expect a knee to the groin and a slap upside the head.

It was a stupid, probably drunk, encounter by two inconsiderates who were probably drunk. Either could've de-escalated ahead of the grabbing and hitting.

RTR,

Tim

Does it really matter? An "excuse me" usually does the trick. I understand I'm different than a lot of folks, but pushing me no matter what the situation is is going to get some attention from me.

You're right. An excuse me goes a long way with me too. But whose to say that he didn't say Excuse me at least once somewhere in that altercation. The only ones that truly know that is him and her. Maybe someone close to them. Hell it could have been a situation where he said it and she didn't hear him. Who knows..... He was wrong no other way around it, but she wasn't completely innocent either.
