How I think the Spring practice looks, starters wise. I'm making this with the assumption that Rolo and Kareem both leave.

Only two seniors in that group. The battles should be great this spring. Also can't wait to see the young guys battling for 2's.

Fluker has some work to do. He could be a big mover in the spring and compete for a starting spot this fall, but he's gonna have to work for it. I'm not sure he'll move Carpenter out of LT though. He may have to move to RT.

Also, linebacker and cornerback should be a fierce battle. We have a lot of young talented players who will be fighting for positions.

Also, for 3 straight season, we've had a freshman linebacker make a huge impact as a starter.

2007 -- R. McClain
2008 -- D. Hightower
2009 -- N. Johnson

We won't have many true freshman LB's on the team this year, but we have a few RS linebackers on the roster for the spring.

Petey Smith (actually grayshirt)
Ed Stinson
Tana Patrick
Jonathan Atchinson

Will be interesting to see if any of those guys can move up to the 1's.

Has Fluker been working at guard?

Quick question...since I don't wish to start a fresh thread on the subject...who are the possible candidates to return the ball in the PR/KR game?

-Terry Grant
-Julio Jones
-BJ Scott??
-Dre??

I'm anxious to hear in respect to this arena.

Julio will be one of the kick returners. I don't think Grant's in the mix for medical reasons. Not sure about Scott or Dre.

Blake Sims would be a good fit this fall, but I'm not sure who gets a look during the spring other than Jones.

I honestly hope Julio is NOT a possibility. He is BIG...but lacks the speed in this area of the game. Plus...I would hate to see him injured in the return game...not when he is SO VITAL to the passing and blocking portion of the game.

When Grant went down this season, I was honestly hoping Mike McCoy would be back with Javy instead of Julio.
