🏈 Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson to call Arkansas game...

Did you hear Musberger refer to Kirby Smith on Saturday?

I'd say the over/under on Tebow mentions would have to be only around 5 since he's graduated and all. :lance:

Marcel Dareus seems like a name they will not only call a lot, but butcher a great deal too. I'm glad Orlando McCain is doing so good with the Raiders already this year. Seriously, Verne is just about done. I'll give Danielson the benefit of the doubt cause he knows football.

Danielson does a good job. For Verne, I think he is past his prime. In his defense though, he is trying to get the names from his spotters and trying to do this as it happens. Trying to learn 75-105 names on each roster each week can get a little confusing. Just be thankful it isn't Lou Holtz and Bob Davie trying to call our game. Then you have Sylvester the cat and Bob " I can't coach but I sure can brag about myself" Davie chewing everything up that is The University of Alabama.

This.

And back in the day, Vern was one of the best. Not quite up to Keith Jackson level, but not far behind.
And as for actually knowing and breaking down a play, I don't think there's anyone better than Danielson doing color. Sure, he may have a little Tebow love, but when he starts talking football, the guy knows his business.

There is a huge positive with CBS picking up the game. Not having to play Arkansas at night will make a difference on the road for our young defense. I can't explain the science behind it, but crowds are generally a lot more hostile with 6pm kickoffs than they are 2:30pm kickoffs. The other plus, using the same thought process, CBS rarely puts the same team on 2 weeks in a row. Which means there is a good chance the Florida match up will be an evening game....possibly ESPN. Again, in my experience, BDS crowds have always been better in the night air. And the ESPN coverage is ALWAYS better than CBS coverage.

With ESPN, we won't have to hear what Tebow would have done differently if he was still at Florida after every play.

As I've stated before, Danielson is much better than most, and I don't mind him. Vern gets worse by the year... he doesn't even have a simple understand of the rules anyone... his effort in the SECCG last December was abysmal.

As for women announcing, I can't stand to listen to Pam Ward call games on ESPN, but then again, I can't say she is any more annoying than having to listen to Bob Davie or Craig James in the booth (or any where else for that matter)... just annoying in a different way.

In related news, the Yankees have a female that teams with John Sterling to do radio, and that duo might be the most annoying 2 folks to ever sit in a press box together. I mean, we're talking about the New York Freaking Yankees here... they deserve better than that.

If I were you I'd mute the TV and listen to Eli. My guess would be good ol' Verne will be all over Mallett "His arm strength, his size and competitive spirit make him a cut above the rest."

Also he will mispronounce half your team's names. My guesses are Dareus, McElroy, Maze (first name), and Hightower.

CBS announced a while ago that 10/2 would be its day for a double-header and that the Bama-Florida game would be the night game. Don't think they've announced an exact time yet though. I'm hoping no earlier than 7:30 or so because a barner friend of mine is getting married at 5:00:swear:

Wow, an aubrun fan getting married on a home game day. I guess that's why they won't sell out the game.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (deep gasp of air) OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I'm calling for a MUTEney

Verne is made for announcing like D.J. Fluker is made for Bikini Modeling.
