In his prime, Verne was great on the call...Unfortunately his time has passed. Can't wait to play you guys, but I think we have our hands full this weekend.

Agreed. I actually like and admire Blackledge, and he's every bit as good an analyst as Danielson. In fact, I'd LOVE to have Blackledge's job! Going around the country to the best college football games and critiquing the best eateries. Could it get any better than that? He seems like a really good guy.

You guys can do like my 90 year old grandmother does. She just turns on her radio to Eli and forgets watching the TV. To her, it reminds her of the past when you only got one game a week on TV or even earlier, when they were all on the radio.

In related news, the Yankees have a female that teams with John Sterling to do radio, and that duo might be the most annoying 2 folks to ever sit in a press box together. I mean, we're talking about the New York Freaking Yankees here... they deserve better than that.

Now back to the original post: A couple of years ago I used to despise Gary Danielson's broadcasting, especially his fawning over Tebow,

but I've grown to stomach GD after listening to his segments on Finebaum's radio show. At least you can tell the guy actually takes the time to think when he breakdowns a game.

Some games it seems like Eli is ahead of the action on tv, and some it seems like he's a play or two behind. I guess it varies game to game. It used to be in better sync than that several years ago.
