🏈 Vacated games question

So I was looking at CFBdatawarehouse.com A great site for stats geeks by the way. LOL!

Anyway, how come a school vacates wins but not losses? To me shouldnt they both be gone? The one that erks me the most is the FSU game. They vacate it, so no one won, but Bama keeps the L even though the win before and two weeks after that game are vacated. Man, the NCAA makes no sense.

:headscratch:

I understand the difference between vacate and forfeit. My question is if the game didnt take place why does one team keep the L or W?

Ex 1. Bama lost to FSU so they keep the L, but FSU had to vacate the W so the game didnt take place.
Ex 2. Bama beat Houston the next week and vacated the W, but Houston keeps the L.
Ex 3. Bama lost to UGA, and even though the game is under that umbrella UGA keeps the W and Bama keeps the L.

I'm lost. Who's on first?:headscratch:

The wonderful world of NCAA. To me if you vacate games during a time frame they should just wipe them all out. To keep the L's is ridiculous, obviously those players that won also lost. I dont know maybe I am using common sense.
