first of all, i don't know how on earth you stay calm in game threads. blows my freakin' mind.

i didn't even think about this team being tired. in the end, both of you guys were right. wrong about the score, but right on the win.

damn, i bet those guys are beat.

how many days do they normall get off now?

Both Darren (Big_Fan on the forums) and I take a very logical approach to how we construct our previews.

Darren spends a lot of time looking at the influx of talent in recruiting classes to gauge the talent that will be on the field.* He takes it a step ...

You are dead on. That is what was bothering me, was we discussed in private. I did not feel good about this game at all, and I am glad we won.

My column and prediction are based almost entirely on the items you mentioned. I discounted the fatigue due to the depth difference.

That said, championship teams have to win ugly sometimes. UF lost to Ole Miss last year, and this UT team is a much better coached team than Ole Miss was.

UT was playing to win. We were playing to survive.

We won. I will take it. We may not suffer in the polls.

Florida and MSU are tied at 3 after 1 quarter.

I suspect they won't practice again until Tuesday. Probably some film work as a team Monday.

You can bet your ass they'll be in the film room tomorrow studying LSU though...

I didn't like what I saw late, but really didn't get nervous about it—or worried.

I'm telling ya..when I saw Crompton turn his back to the field before Saban called the time out I knew it was over.

I didn't expect Cody to block his second though. I thought, especially given last years results with Lincoln, it would be a miss.

Cranking up the Wayback Machine, I remember the 1966 game well. We trailed 10-0 at the half but fought our way beack to an 11-10 lead late. UT. At that point UT mounted their only drive of the second half and moved the ball into gimmee field goal range with time only for the kick remaining. The attempted game winner sailed wide left and the 1966 team went on to become the undefeated "Uncrowned Champions". Coach Bryant noted on his show the next day that if the ball ahd been kicked straight we would have blocked it. In remembering the replay, I am sure that he was correct. Love to stick it to those guys!
