Did anyone catch the end of that game? Pete Carrol loves running the score up.. went up top of Neuheisel's Bruins and scored a bomb on them w/ 50 secs left when they were already up 21-7 (winning 28-7). I wish we could play those guys one of these years......

yeah, well, UCLA was calling timeouts so they could get the ball back to win, USC said screw you, then acted like idiots on the sidelines.

not sure I blame him...to be honest. why let the other team have a shot at scoring again.

what I don't like is how he addressed it, acted like he was innocent, say what you did. don't be a damn liar.

Yeah.. Thats exactly what I was thinking. That was great to see Harbaugh go for two a few weeks ago... USC (Carrol) has been doing this kind of thing for years. I like the guy but I just think it was/is unnecessary. I just dont think you would ever see someone like CNS doing that. Roll Tide!

I saw it... and while running up the score was a bush league move (I guess Carroll thinks everyone else should give him a pass for doing it, but feel bad when others do it to his boys), his (and his team's) reaction after the TD was the real embarrassment IMO.

I don't blame him. When you are beat, you need to act it.

When the team that is kicking your tail takes their starters out to keep from running up the score on you, they are do YOU a favor and you should not be a heel and try to exploit the respect that they have given to you. If you keep your starters in, they are not the classless ones, you are...and they are not out of line to put their starters back in.

When UCLA made a play to compete, USC was not out of line to do the same. THEY DID THE SAME THING AFTER ACTING TO HELP UCLA.

In this case, going for two would be running up the score. On-side kick would be running up the score. To me, Nuehousle (sp?) is the bush-league character here.

I can see that side of it too. And I will say, that I saw all this live, but with the TV muted, and didn't really see what led up to it. I don't care for either coach, so I certainly don't feel bad for Neuheisel... I wish there was a way both could have lost.

ding, yes, UCLA was playing to stay in the game, so Pete said, screw it. But he acted like it was no big deal after the game, which is BS. Man up and say it, don't put that smile on and act all innocent.

Then having the teams ready to rumble at the end was the down part for me...

In my opinion, your suppose to play till the end of the game. It doesn't matter how bad your losing. It is lack of dicipline to allow USC to throw the bomb. They should have been ready anyways.

It was wrong in a sense, but the game wasn't over.

dont forget last year we where up on auburn 28-0 vey late and you know what happened .
Now WE know why Gmac hit the man going to the endzone ,because of the defenses type coverage .But alot of people could see that as ''running up the score''.

You are right its not over until its over.
There was a time i liked pete carroll and the program at USC
but here of late the pressure of him bullying other teams or lack of has got to the bastid.

That last night could have got nasty ,very nasty and i would have put the blame on pete
the way he reacted after the T.D.

What im still shaking my head at is Notre Dame letting a team score a t.d. on purpose to try and comeback to tie the game.

Unusual no ,but i have never seen it done before .Like the guys in the booth said ''i would hate to be the defensive capt. that had to call the ''let them score play''.

They where some great games yesterday reminded me why i love college football so much.

Now on to hotlanta where the TIDE IS GONNA ROLL.:hyper:

Agreed but Carrol is known for this type of thing and seems to encourage (or rather not discourage) the BS sideline taunting they displayed afterwords... Again, That $%@! would never fly w/ CNS. Roll Tide

I agree, the touchdown was fine but he acted like a kid in a candy store after they scored it. Jumping all around getting excited. I mean, have a little class anyways. I think it was all to do with Recruiting though. Trying to get some Rep kinda like Lame Kiffin has "tried" to do here.

I was curious when this was going to be addressed. I was shocked that they just gave up, but in a sense, you could argue it was a good thing, as they hadn't stopped them much all day. ND defense is horrible and they were running it down their throat, however by letting them score, you flip the tide and put it in your teams hands offense to score, which they were doing fairly easily as well.

pretty funny to see, I also question what the players were thinking...you mean you want to let them score.
