🏈 Update: Kiffin to FAU (Bama OC through playoffs)

FWIW - I couldn't find the report from Aaron Fentress or any other report that looked legit. Volnation does have a very active thread talking about this. They lost 3 commits tonight and their University airplane made two trips from Knoxville to Purdue, according to them. So, right now it looks like a lot of speculation. Nothing official yet.

The only reason Kiffin to LSU is a story is because the media is trying to make it one.

I don't get what you're saying here, OP.

Rodney Orr reported a while back that Orgeron had approached Sark about the OC position and Sark turned him down. I've seen the same from Kirk McNair.

Org, according to multiple people, told the LSU admin he was going to bring Kiffin in as his OC.

Here's where I'm lost. How is the media making this a story when it is the story?

Does Kiffin want to be an OC for the rest of his career? How does a Kiffin move to LSU help him? I'm sure Orgeron would love to get him, but it just doesn't make sense. But then, based on Kiffin's past behavior, maybe that's why it might happen.

We've seen the media speculate and develop stories in the past (Saban to Texas, Saban to the NFL) based on only one side of the story. All of them are trying to outscoop the others and don't care if "the situation changed."

He's a freaking goober

I don't have a problem with him leaving. Didn't think he would stay this long to be honest. To leave after Saturday wouldn't really bother me if it was for a HC gig. To make a lateral move to LSwho would just be a total DICK move though. I do think Saban has 3 guys more than capable of calling the offense in Napier, Locksley, and The Great White Sark.

Winning seems to be easy with the current combination of coaches employed. Why would he want to leave the cash cow when he can wait for Coach Saban to retire.

I must be the only one that thinks that Coach Kiffin has the easiest job in the world making close to a million a year with great job security. Why would he take a rebuilding job with a flailing program.

Everyone is assuming that he is chomping at the bit to be a HC again or is totally unhappy with his current position.

fire away

Regardless of whether he leaves this year or not, he will not be the man that replaces Coach Saban. You can bet on that.
