Frankly, I hate to see him go. Without him I don't see QBs Sims, Coaker, and a true freshman, mediocre and injured (this season) offensive lines, and Henry (slow acceleration) and Drake (not physical enough to run inside) taking us as far as they all did.

We know man. With Lane, the magnificent, almost single-handedly able to help this downtrodden Tide team to win despite the obvious physical limitations before them, what will we ever do?

If anything......you should know that Finebaum is the proverbial pot stirrer. He didn't get a 7 figure salary by not speculating and planting seeds.

Kiffen very well may leave and if he does, so be it. I tend to agree with others on here. The coaching carousel is just starting. I think Lane feels out his options before he takes a lateral move (loosely used term) to LSU. I would not be surprised to see Lane go be with Coach O, but I still think if Oregon comes open, that is a marriage waiting to happen with Joey Freshwater and the Phil Knight/Nike swag train.

I know about Paul, but multiple sources are involved here. And regarding Oregon, didn't Blake Barnett visit there too? I mentioned a while back that I could see Barnett and Kiffin reuniting on the West Coast!

Kiffin may leave but if he does, IMO, it would be for a head coaching job somewhere. I do not think he would leave for a lateral move to some and a downward move to me to be the OC at LSU. Sure, he and Coach O are friends but he would have to start over with a coaching staff and a QB in particular. At Bama, he returns with a kid that has a year under his belt, the first time a starter at QB returns, a staff he knows and position players that have played for him. He do not need the money either. I was surprised when he came on board 3 years ago and I may be surprised again with him going to LSU.

That tells you all you need to know about the atmosphere surrounding Knoxville. Some are reporting that Butch has reached out to Purdue for the HC job. This is not going to end well. But no one does the offseason like the vols.

And why would Sark leave for LSU when he will have just been offered the OC job at Bama? Why do you think Sark was brought in to begin with? Saban knew Kiffin would likely get a head coaching offer this off-season. Kiffin knows it as well.

As an aside, it wouldn't surprise me a bit to see Kiffin end up as HC at Oregon.

Agree. I think Houston would be a perfect spot to get the luster back. Cupboard's not bare and expectations will be manageable. Do a good job and he'll be able to name his next job.
