🏈 Update: Kiffin to FAU (Bama OC through playoffs)

Kiffin has a modest but very modern 30,000 seat stadium to sell to recruits. I think they've been averaging about 10,000 per game but not winning will do that. He is going to be next door to some great talent in the Miami area and recruiting is one area of football life he doesn't have to get better at.

Welp, it will have its challenges, which start by avoiding too much distraction from the Owl Welcoming committee waiting anxiously in the Boca Harbor area for Joey Fresh...Brackish...Saltwater to arrive

When Smart was in transition we looked good in the Mich State game but our D looked pretty rough in the Clemson game. Probably one of our worst defensive games of the season (even though a couple of the scores came late, doesn't really matter). You guys think we see any slowdown in the offense due to Kiffin being distracted some by the new gig he's accepted? Maybe that didn't affect Smart, but something did and it wasn't just D. Watson.

I'm not sold that Kirby was that distracted. I think we struggled with Clemson's scheme and the best QB last year having the game of his life. There is a valid reason that we heard players say they are smaller on the d-line, ILB, OLB, all to improve our pursuit to the ball. We have taken complicated defensive calls and simplified the assignments so that it's more read and react to improve our pursuit to the ball. We are now the proud owner of the fastest defense in the Nick Saban era. With 3 spread teams in the playoff, we are about to see if the new and improved has paid off.

Kiffin just needs to keep the offensive Lane train on the tracks.

Alabama just signed a JUCO that got arrested three times in a semester... and lets not forget signing a guy that committed armed robbery on Alabama campus... Kiffin deserves another chance, why not that QB?

You are preaching to the choir. Just repeating what the press had to say. I've already lived through Pettway, Calloway, Williams, Hayes, Upshaw, Hootie, Cam, Tim W. and a host of others.

I just wonder if this FSU QB would have even considered FAU without Lane Kiffin?

Of course not, thats part of the allure of Lane Kiffin. He is going to draw players like that that wouldnt have even looked at FAU for a second before. QBs are going to see the numbers that average QBs like Coker or Sims were able to put up in a Kiffin offense and then remember the Lienhart/Bush/Lendale/Robert Woods days at USC and their mouths are going to water. Just watch, the Dade Co. area is about to get a shit load more competition. Bama was already kicking Miami's asses for elite athletes down there, now they have to deal with Lane.

Makes sense, The QB seemed like a power 5 get, but I haven't kept up with his career.
