🏈 Update: Kiffin to FAU (Bama OC through playoffs)

Hearing Oklahoma OC now trending for Houston and Kiffin name being mentioned for USF job now open as their coach heading to Oregon.

Didn't believe it at first, but I'm afraid Lane will wind up at LSU now. At least I can go back to disliking him:headscratch:

Sounds like a big time monkey wrench has been thrown into Kiffin's prospects at South Florida.

CBS-Dennis Dodd

Seems like Dennis Dodd is assuming more than anything. Not like Kiffin would keep Reaves and Reaves certainly wouldn't give a ringing endorsement either. As for the AD, looks like he would have seen firsthand what Kiffin did despite the sanctions he was hit with on his arrival. Sounds like the media wants Kiffin to LSwho as bad as Orgeron does. Need some spice to the BAMA-LSwho game.

Pretty sure Kiffin is smart enough not to move laterally. Moving laterally is always a horrendous decision and almost never works out, he'll be put into a system with no solid QB prospects and little talent at skill positions. I think if Sexton or Saban are helping Kiffin they will tell him not to go to LSU..he could lose all possibility of a head coaching job position if he goes to LSU on a gamble and it doesn't work out...seems to be a bad business decision.

When it comes to Kiffin, I honestly try to keep my feelings about this guy all about what I see on the field of play. That has not been easy with all the crap that has circulated Tuscaloosa the past year. If only some of his personal life is verifiable, beyond individual hearsay, I honestly don't see how Kiffin is gonna make this HC thing work. To think it was only about the amount of the buyout clause at Houston is kinda stunning to me if true. I think LSU has a death wish. Orgeron has zero chance of regulating and extracting the best of Lane Kiffin. Absolutely Zero. That's going to be some serious bayou entertainment.

I know it's been reported that he'll move to LSU OC if he can't get a HC job, but I just don't buy that at all... it would make ZERO sense, unless Saban is telling him to hit the road... and I find that hard to believe too... but in this wacky world, anything is possible. I just don't worry about it too much. He's going leave at some point and I'm not that worried where he goes... as long as Saban is staying.

That's what I've said from day one. When he was hired I said I didn't like his personality. It still gets on my nerves a bit. BUT, you can't argue with numbers. He's proved that at USC, at UT, etc.

The day I see Dennis Dodd knowing something about Alabama, or the SEC for that matter (outside of Mizzou) will be the first.

That's why I think he is just throwing assumptions around and seeing what might stick. "His soon to be ex brother in law works there and he has probably told things on Kiffin. The current AD was at UCLA and saw what Kiffin did during his tenure at USC." Sound about right?

Sounds about Dodd.

Speaking of OU and their offense... How the heck did they get 2 players nominated for the Heisman? 2? That doesn't even make sense to me. I've not even heard of the WR. How does a player like Allen not get in ahead of that WR? I can't remember 2 guys making the final, from the same team and same side of the ball, ever. And from a 2 loss team at that...

Well, looks like Houston and Sexton may have worked out that pesky buyout issue:
