| FTBL Update: Alabama announces Freddie Roach as new DL coach

Here's another angle to consider. What's the role of the Compliance department?

I believe we'll all agree, first and foremost, it's education. In other words, making sure the staff members and athletes are fully informed on governing rules.

Is it their role to institute self-imposed sanctions if rules are broken? Advisory role, at best, in my view.

The bigger question is this. Is it their role to look at prospective employees and assume a "pre-crime" type of role as seen in Minority Report? Not like they know a rule will be broken, but "there's a possibility one might be made so let's cut it off now."
So your saying the compliance department has a big influence as an adviser with regards to Davis not coming back to bama? Don't you think if Saban really wanted this it would happen?

Thread kind of getting of topic. So is Freddie hired or not?

Did I read this right about Vinnie Sunseri landing a staff position with the New England Patriots? I read this on Facebook come here to see if it is true! I knew he was something on the team as off-field grad asst.

Good ole Florence boy. Well, Killen, but... Giy was a stud in high school. He and Patrick Hape both. Took a charge from Hape in a B-ball game. Big mistake... freight train would have been softer.
