Officials charge 49ers' Foster with 3 felonies

Officials said Foster, now 24, "physically attacked" his live-in girlfriend, leaving "her bruised and with a ruptured eardrum." Officials said Foster dragged her by her hair, physically threw her out of the house and punched her in the head eight to 10 times.
Foster is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in San Jose. He faces charges of domestic violence with an allegation that he inflicted great bodily injury, forcefully attempting to prevent a victim from reporting a crime, and possession of an assault weapon -- all felonies.
In addition, he was charged with misdemeanor possession of a large-capacity weapon magazine. During a search of the home, police found a Sig Sauer 516 and a large-capacity magazine, both of which are illegal to possess in California.
If convicted, officials said he could face more than 11 years in prison.

I think this is another example of what exactly Coach Saban can do for a guy and how he runs a positive program. Foster always had attitude and temper issues, dating back to high school where he allegedly got into it with a high school coach. Coach was able to keep him under control, keep him out of trouble, help him graduate, and built a future for him. He gets out of school and goes to shit at the combine and now this.

Two things really piss me off about this whole thing; one being that he has kids, and the other that he beat a woman. His family took care of his kids while he was in high school and in college. He is setting a shitty example for those kids, as he knows they will see and be able to read all of this stuff in the news. Having kids, I feel awful when I see kids with sorry ass parents than can't act right and treat their kids right and first in their lives. Beating a woman is never a good thing. One, setting another bad example for the kids. Two, not being intelligent enough to have a conversation and work things out the adult way. Three, being twice the size of her and thinking you're a badass by making her cower to you. It's just bad all around and I knew he had the capacity and ability for this to happen, but I was really hoping Alabama had changed him. I had mentioned a few times before that his temper and thug behavior was an issue, and here it is rearing it's head again. So one instance with the combine, the robbery at the nightclub, and now domestic battery and abuse. Ole boy is not heading in the right direction. Hope he saved some money for his girls, cause the NFL checks will most likely stop coming soon.

He is done!!! Even if the domestic charge was dropped, the 2 other felonies for an "assault" weapon and a "high capacity" magazine has his ass in prison!! I really wish people knew the definition of an "assault" weapon. As for Reuben, you pissed it all away!!!

At least 3 sides to the story, her side, his side, and the truth...maybe a few more.

I'd prefer they get rid of the assault rifle term all together...everyone now thinks an AR15 falls into this term.

I call mine a defensive rifle. Come and take it...I dare ya.

I agree!! I have had several heated discussions with anti-gun people on Facebook. They swear that they are right even with the definition staring them in the face. By their definition, ALL semi-automatic weapons should be banned!! Just come try and take one of mine!!!

Back to the OP. California law states that any magazine that carries 10 or more rounds is outlawed. All of these sporting rifles come standard with a 20-30 round mag!! The assault weapons ban is "any gun that the state desires to put on the list!"

I am not anti-gun, I am anti-idiot owning a gun. Sounds like Reuben may fall into that latter category. I really think that before anyone can own a gun, they should have to go through and pass a gun safety course. Depending on the class of the weapons, more courses may be required. We(me and my immediate family) have several guns in our homes but we all have had safety courses. Well, except for my father but he is 86 years old, you could say he is grandfathered in to the program.

Wow, did not know that about the outlawed number of rounds. We all know California is one step away from being completely different than the entire rest of the country, but that is ridiculous. Hell, my tiny little PPK (Bond, James Bond) holds six rounds in the magazine and one in the hole, and it fits inside my own hand all together. Most 9MM hold, what, twelve?

You can't fix idiots...

I'm anti idiot driving a car while on the texting/facebooking/watching movies/etc, they've banned that in most states, but I still see people every day driving to work (50-70mph mind you in Dallas) two handing a cell phone in landscape mode.

:bolt:

@BamaFan334, I own a Glock .40 cal that holds 15+1. I can only imagine the hassle it would take to actually move out to California. You would need to study all of the gun laws beforehand or risk going to prison, and there are a shit ton of those laws!!!

Everything you wrote is true. One difference, we don't make people take safety courses before driving a car. Just a simple driving test and maybe some driver's ed, taught by a bored football assistant coach. That is, if the person even gets that far in school before dropping out.

Even if we made people take safe driving courses before they obtained a DL and gun safety courses before owning a gun, there would still be idiots but it would cut down enough to be worth the while. Also, there would still be people driving cars without a DL and people owning guns without a permit. If you can cut down the deaths by 10% because of of some simple precautions, I think it would be worth it.

In Texas, you have to go to a class to get your License to Carry (aka, conceal carry permit). Requires a class, test, background check, and shooting course. Renewal is online, believe they validate background again...dunno. I'm licensed. I will tell you there were some folks in the class wanting to know if they could shoot someone for stealing their patio furniture from their backyard.

I can't speak first hand for other states. I support guns and I like that Texas does. I'm not a hunter, but I believe in arming myself for protection from others.

I laugh that cities are making laws that require you to be 21 to own a gun...meanwhile we send 18 year olds to war.

I don't know what the right solution is, but I can tell you that I do not agree with California's guns laws (among many other laws).
