🏈 Unjust penalties and no calls against Bama...

The past few years, Alabama has become a target for the SEC officials, in what I believe is an attempt to level the playing field for our opponents. We see it every Saturday. Calls against us, and no calls against our opposition are becoming the norm. It's completely unfair, and I can't stand it. Our boys work their asses off everyday only to make it to game day and have to beat the other team as well as the opponents. Last year Alabama ranked 132 of 132 in penalties against per opponent, and we are 127 of 132 this year to date. In 2015, we were 54 of 132 and we won a NC. I have a link for this info, as well as a petition to send to the SEC offices that calls for Steve Shaw and Greg Sankey to hold these refs accountable. If anyone wants to sign, please let me know and I'll pm you the link. We need 1000 signatures and we've gathered almost 200 in just a couple days. Your thoughts?

Wow, no clue that was the case. So I'm guessing the ratio pulls penalties for : penalties against to come up with the rankings, and we were last because we had way more penalties against us than for us? Yeah, that's pretty crazy considering we usually play pretty disciplined ball and win despite the penalties.

as an unwritten...thing....we all know that holding happens on just about every play, if not every play.

and more times than not, 'Bama gets called for it more times than their opponent.

also, against arkansas last saturday, 'Bama got called for a pass interference call in the endzone when the ball was clearly uncatchable. they showed the replay several times, and to me it looked like that pass was very high, and that is the receiver WOULD have been able to get his hands on it, he would've come down out of bounds anyway. and it's those calls that really piss me off. it just seems that more times than not 'Bama gets called for something like that and the other team doesn't in the same situation.

it's just infuriating!

It's just human nature. You see it in basketball every single game.

The winning team never gets breaks. Naturally the official feels sympathy towards the losing bunch and there is no guilt associated with letting things slide for losing team or coming down on the winning team.

Can't tell you how many basketball games tighten up in the 4th quarter because of this... Winning team has to overcome it. Bugs the hell out of me but officials are generally weaker individuals (sorry...or they'd be playing/coaching/competing) so they're naturally inclined to even things up. Sad but true

While it may be true, it still is unjust. It's gotten way out of hand in Bama games. I just think that these refs should be held accountable. If I perform poorly at my job, there are consequences. These guys crap the bed and get off scott-free.

There is also the factor that every team that plays Bama, they give their best effort. I watch the games closely and I see both teams get away with things and both teams sometimes get bad calls. Sure, Bama may get more of those bad calls but I do not feel like making a huge deal about it, no more than opponents should fuss about Bama "never getting called for holding" BS. Just use this info to throw it back in their faces, that is all I plan to do with this info. Bama is the King right now, no reason to whine about the furnishings in our castle, when our opponents live in hovels.

I dont know...i think there is a lot of professional conduct in officiating....
Now...if you want to make a case...we can go back to 90s...
And i can absolutely agree....with the Tennessee Vol Fan and booster the conference had for a commissioner.....
And the hate TN and associates had for Bama.....
Many many bad officiating...many unprofessional acts..admitted by commish Karmer...
...could list a bunch....it was bad anti-Bama stuff...
But..today's officiating looks ok....

My answer to anything like this that people have said to me is, So then, by the same logic, the UN Security Council should impose sanctions against America because we are the greatest, and we should all just be ok with it?

Some people will say "It will all work out!!"

I'm one. I believe there are other factors to consider. As example...

Bama up 21 over Arkansas at the end of the first quarter.
Bama up 21 over Ole Miss at the end of the first quarter.
Bama up 21 over Vanderbilt at the end of the first quarter.
Bama up 17 over Colorado State at the end of the first quarter.
Bama up 28-3 over Fresno State at the end of the first half.

Versus:

It was a close game against Florida State: 10-7 at the half. At the end of the game FSU had four penalties for 30 yards, Bama had five for 30.

It was a close game (versus the other five listed) against A&M. While Bama was up by 14 at the half, the second half was closer. At the end of the game A&M had six penalties for 45 yards, Bama had six for 50.

At a point the officials just let the guys play. Yes, their offensive line may be holding but they're also down by three touchdowns. I can see an official throwing a flag just to make a bad beat down even worse. Just let the clock run.

Now, that said, I realize if we look at the loss to Clemson there's a disparity in penalties. In my opinion, to place any of the blame of that loss at the refs feet is misplaced blame.

In '15 when Bama lost to Ole Miss they had twice the flags. In '14 another disparity when playing Ole Miss but again I can't put the blame at the officials feet--Bama screwed up left and right that game. Ohio State loss? Even flag numbers.

What does all that tell me?

Like I said "It will work out!:D" You show my point! Bama won some and crap lost a few! When I make that statement, I almost put this in it too, but for some reason I didn't. So here it is now! :D
